Default alarm problem

I am a " new to me" owner of a 05 coup. The problem I am having is I can lock my car in the morning and some time that evening my alarm goes off for now aparent reason. this has been happening alot lately.
I can go into a store and when i come out my car alarm is going off, lights flashing, etc. I EVEN tried pushing the tow button on the console, locking using the key, nothing seems to be working. I don`t want to leave my car unlocked, just so when I come out of the store, to not see my car flashing &screaming at me. HELP

It might be something as simple as a bad connection on a door switch (trunk, glove box, hood etc.).

Or, gremlins! Do you abuse your xFire?

Hope you find it.

Congratulations and welcome to our forum!

If your car is still under warranty I would take it in and have them look at it.

Hi Gary, My xfire just started doing this and if you resolved the issue can you please let me know how? I was told to take out fuse #9 but not sure if this will fix it. Currently my car is dead from the tow alarm going off all night - it does not stop after 3 minutes. Thanks!!!!!!

Until you do find a fix here's the way to lock the car,you only have to do this once in a while otherwise you can look your car this way as long as you own it.

With your remote, hit the lock sequence, that will lock both doors the Trunk and the gas door.
Now hit the unlock button one time only, that will unlock the drivers door.
Open the hood, the fuse box at the bottom of the windshield on the driver side under the hood removed fuse number nine, it says alarm interior lights, light ect. Close your hood, locked the drivers door with the key.
Later With the ignition on, if you would like the passenger door unlocked or the trunk ,, hit the unlock button on the dash.

Once you drive the car your trunk and passenger door automatically lock, so if you stop to go into a store, simply lock the drivers door with the key.

There are quite a few cars out there that use the system so we need to find a fix for the problem.I was told It could be the battery in the alarm if you remove your siren you will see that it is so small and sealed, and you wonder how could there be a battery in there, there is,if this battery is bad, it could be the problem. If anyone would like to order a new siren,, install it in their car and if it solves problem than we know what the fix is. jim
