Default Radar Detector...

Ok so I live in Toronto Canada, I want a radar detector that is the king of all detectors!

Since they are illegal in canada, I gotta make sure that my detector cant be detected.

Also, does the detector work on he new lazer units the cops are using?

any idea what detector I should smuggle into my country?

My theory is that our car can handle better, stop quicker, and is just plain better then most cars so our speed limit should be better as well.

I've been using Escort radar detectors since they were as big as a bread box.
Mine saved me today as I was able to hit the brakes and slow down before the military police got a lock on me. I thought for sure they had me.

I was looking at: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...t=laser+jammer

That looks awfully spiffy but illegal where I live too, but from what the description says its pretty stealthy

If you truly want something that CANNOT be detected by "radar detector detectors" there is only one choice.. the Beltronics STi Driver.. it's approximately $500.00...

Most detectors over $100 have this protection.

Look at Escort, Bel, or V1.
Usually are rated the best - there is not one that is the best at everything.
But you wont go wrong with these.

I really need to find the one that is impossible to track, just cuz the cops will double kick my *** if I get caught.

Beltronics STi Driver is the best then?

I use an Escort Solo S2, which is nice because it is cordless, and it has saved me many times including just this past Sunday on te PA turnpike.

If you want the best one with the best stealth, then I agree...the BEL STi Driver is the one.

apparently the bel sti is the top of the line regarding detectability (or lack thereof)

I own a Valentine One, which I wouldn't trade for a bel Sti, but I would never run it in Virginia!

Have a Valentine. Excellent radar. Unfortunately, I got a ticket Sunday afternoon.

Unmarked SUV. Came off I-75 to Turnpike. I had been going 70-75 mph untill I got to the bottom of the ramp. I looked to the left and rear and just absolutely nailed the SRT. Had to get up over 120 for a quick spurt. I had been slowing down to 90 ish when I saw these pretty red and blue lights in the grill of a green SUV. He said he saw me get on the turnpike and said he was going over a 100 and I was pulling away rather handily. (his word not mine) He asked me for my lic and reg. Wrote me a ticket for 90 in a 70. He paced me. No radar. DUHHHHHHHHHHHH

Bet your happy he didnt ticket you for the 120+
That might be a go to jail speed.
Radar Detectors are not as good as a jammer.
Soeer that you got a ticket.

I do the same thing on my freeway onramp. I have hit 130mph using the whole ramp. Then I have to brake and coast to get back to legal limit. I only get to do this once in a while as it is not often that there is no cars on the ramp, even at 5:45am. Probably a good thing for me.

here is all you need,

ps by the way the only choice you have is bel sti driver which i am using since i might be moving to an area where you are not allowed radar detectors. bel sti is spectre immune.

i use the bel sti-r which is the built in unit. it has the laser blocker and radar detector detector blocker so it blocks the cops that can detect radars as well. ive had a bunch of radars k40,v1, 8500 and this bel beats them all. im able to pass by cops that are lasering me at 85 mph in a 65 mph zone because they never get my speed.i love my radar detector. i give it big hugs when i get in the car. the problem with them in canada is that there is too much interference with the plows putting off ka, and other service trucks using false signals
