Ok, then it's either the head or AMP. If you can hook up with another Crossfire owner with an original head, they can be quickly swapped and you'll know right then if it's the head or amp!
You can swap them with ONLY the removal tool ($5 at Walmart or Advance auto) - THEN you'll know what direction to go. There are a lot of OEM heads for sale, many here have replaced theirs with "better" heads.

The "Head" is the Radio (AM/FM/CD unit) itself.
There is a radio removal tool you can get, looks like a key - I'm headed out, if I get a chance, I'll look here, you might do a search for "Radio removal tool" I think there is a post here showing how to use it and giving the part number at Advance Auto.
