Default Need to run wires from license plate to inside of cabin with no drilling

Is this possible? I need to mount two objects on the back of the car (say the furthest left & right of the license plate in the recess) and run 2 wires into the cabin without drilling.. is this possible?

Has anyone done something similar to this?

Hmm, I have in the past took the power from each of the tail lights and routed the wires around the rear end and up into the trunk latch. You could take the wires from there and move them outside of the car to the spot you want. It wont be beautiful when you open the car but itll work..

You could also run the wires or pull power from the trunk hatch and run the wires out of the license plate lights i suppose? I'd be worried about water getting up into the lights though...

lastly, and i havent really explored this, you might be able to remove the rear plastic panelling the try and find an entry point there under the panelling.. but that doesnt sound like alot of fun...

goodluck!

right behind the license plate is a knockout hole. Then you can fish the wires up between the body panel, make a small slit in the weatherstrip and you're in. Then you can route along the interior panels. that's how I ran my rearview camera.

Remove the door sill and the trim up the rear side of the door, pull back the carpet, take the foam plug out of the hole and you will see access holes to the trunk. Other wires are going through here so its easy to spot.
Remove the cover over the wheel arch in the trunk and you can pull a wire through, this works both sides of the car I believe, although I have only done it on the passenger side - LHD.

If you remove the diffuser (only tried on the passenger side), there is a drain plug that you can pop out and you can run wires through the hole into the trunk cargo area.

Ok, I looked up what a diffuser was online, but I stil am not sure what part on our car you are referring to. lol I am going to be routing some wires for my backup camera today. Thx

Wiki Definition:
A diffuser, in an automotive context, is a shaped section of the car underbody which improves the car's aerodynamic properties by enhancing the transition between the high-velocity airflow underneath the car and the much slower freestream airflow of the ambient atmosphere. It works by providing a space for the underbody airflow to decelerate and expand so that it does not cause excessive flow separation and drag, by providing a degree of "wake infill". The diffuser itself accelerates the flow in front of it, which helps generate downforce.

I'm talking about those two 'fin' like pieces that hang down on either side of the exhaust pipes. If you crawl under the car you can see screws attached to them. (One screw is on the inside of the rear wheel well. I think (not sure) that they are the torx bit type of screws though.

I removed the one on the passenger side, and there's a drain plug that you can pop out. Once it's out if you look from the top (remove the brake light access pannel and look down) you'll be able to see light (and possibly the ground). I used that hole to run the wires, just remember to put the drain plug back on when you're done!

But i'm not 100% sure this would even work for your application, because I was running wires from the bottom of my car into the cab.

:/ sorry

Good luck!

-Eric
