Default Ipod Control With Blue Tooth

Anybody running one of these? Seriously considering pulling the factory out of my 04.

I had the DSXS310 from amazon Amazon.com: Sony DSXS310BTX Digital Media Receiver with Pandora Stream: Car Electronics when it was over 200. Its 182 now so if your going to get one you might as well spend the few extra dollars for the latest model and enjoy amazon's easy (and amazing!) return policy. I, however, did not like the unit. The control **** is a PITA to operate when driving. The menu navigation is counter intuitive. Your not supposed to leave any devices inside the tune try when you turn the car off; it has recognition problems if you do. I only bought it for its android support for Pandora via Bluetooth, even that was flakey at times. To each their own, but if you want to try it, Amazon has a 30 day return policy.

I ended up buying Keenwoods latest model, the KDC-X996. I cant compare them yet because it being delivered tomorrow.

Thanks for the response.. guess the search will continue

I had read reviews of the **** contol as you stated.. The fact you have to remove the ipod every time you turn the car off is the deal breaker though.

Glad to know it now than have to find out first hand!

Still doing a lot of looking around for something in this price range. Just wondering if you can put a usb drive "inside" the tray compartment and basically leave it without any read issues when restarting?

And thanks guys for the input!

I think it's pretty crazy to think about "upgrading" my 04 to a nav thats a pain to use unit and then spend another 240 for an adapter when half of that gets me into at least the 2010 era with phone interface.

When i first installed it i put my 8 gig ipod into it and left it for a few days with no problem but since i have all of that music plus all the rest of my music on my iphone and pandora etc i took it out and use blue tooth instead also the radio isnt as loud as the original head unit however you can adjust the output on the blue tooth on the phone and on the reciever so it goes a lot louder than the radio so thats what i listen to most of the time. Altho it has 52 watts you use yhe 4 watt preouts to hook up and not thew 52 watt side unless u bypass the amp. I have not split the subs before the amp yet considering it.

Nice looking unit.. just gets a little pricy if you want to add blue tooth to the menu also.

Kinda kicking this one around... Kinda thinking the internal dock would just be a "bling wow" factor..lol. Especially since you can get the little stubby usb sticks that wouldn't be obtrusive ..

Clarion makes great headunits. I had the Alpine ida-x100m in my car for a while and loved it but went back to the factory unit when Rudy made the iPod adapter kit.

Pulled the trigger on the Clarion unit.. and doing a search on the net it looks like plug and play.. no adapters or harness required. Down side.. guess I'll have to redo my bass canon from spliced into the amp leads to the dedicated subwoofer RCA plugs on the new unit. Oh well, guess I can just look at it as more bonding time with the Crossfire.. LOL
