Parrot Asteroid Question
Hello fellow Crossfire aficionados!
I'm about to pull the trigger on the Parrot Asteroid but I'm a little bit concern about installation. Can anyone that has one comment on how difficult it is to install and what parts are necessary for installation? i.e. receiver wire harness, etc.
Much appreciated gents!

Thanks for your reply, I have searched and I have seen the "How To" guide. It's my mistake for not specifying. The thing is that I read that because it's an European product it doesn't need the receiver adapter, it fits right in without major "tinkering" and so I want to know if that's correct. The guide is great but it's mainly for American Stereos.
Cheers!

If you buy the radio from crutch field they supply everything you need to install it in your car. If you look at the adapter for the antenna and the pictures of the back of the radio you can clearly see that the radio uses the standard antenna input that most aftermarket stereo's use. You need the same adapter that everyone else has used.
everything you need to install this will come with it from crutchfeild
i also did the rear sub isolation and installed the rca jacks
used the amp preouts on new headunit
man this thing rocks very happy with it

I installed an Asteroid a month or so ago.
Sound quality is much greater than stock unit which was my first goal.
The apps are weak and not the reason to get this unit. It is software driven and not hardware so it does crash once in a while, say 1 or 2 times in a week for me. Could it be better? Heck yes it has tons of potential but no way is it developed enough to reach it.
Install for me was painless, plugged right into my ISO harness (on a slk32, not sure if crossfire has exact same) just needed an antenna adapter.
Overall is it worth it? Sure, I like oddball stuff!

Sounding better than stock is not setting a very high bar IMO. Do you have anything else to compare it to? I am debating between this, a Kenwood Excelon, and an Alpine unit.
ok, the Parrot sounds WAY better than the stock unit using stock amp and speakers. Good dynamic range, good adjustabilty, imaging is so-so but that is compromised by speaker placements.
Is it as good as my Klipsch home theater? Not even close, but for an open roadster I am happy with it. I was never a fan of Alpines but the Kenwood I like. Really depends on what your objectives are. For pure sonic fidelity perhaps the Kenwood. If you want to mess around with tweaking and hoping for better Android apps, Parrot.

I have actually been distracted and am working on braking upgrade. Now I just need to get the vendor to respond so I can actually purchase the rotors I want. Who knew it could be so difficult to spend money with someone.
