Default Subwoofer help

I recently had two 12 inch Kicker L5s in my truck, but that took up to much space. I am thinking about getting shallow mounted suns for behind the seats. What are your guys thoughts and opinions?

How tall are you, and do you know people who could make a box?

I'm 6 foot, but my crossfire is standard so I have to be up pretty close to control the clutch. My seat isn't ALL the way back

It will be a very tight fit no matter what, and IMHO I wouldnt do it for a few reasons.

1. If you were to accidently push the seat into the sub while on...... bye bye sub.

2. The sub coil can damage from pressure, being pointed closely and used towards a stationary object the same size or bigger (the sub needs to breathe).

3. You will get more out of a sub with more volume to use (refer to 2.) and be alot less likely to damage it by constricting volume it needs.

You could try, but you would like it a whole lot more pretty much anywhere else.... Now if you were 5ft................... maybe.

I have a base model and I'll tell you my complete setup. The subs just give the right amount of added ambiance that I wanted.

First: I'm 5'11 and because of the angle of the seat since your not sitting with the back of it at 90 degrees, the top of the seat will hit the back wall and thus the section of the seat by the sub wont be touched and I sit with my seat very far back. So the subs wont be damaged.

Second: Here is a pic of the sub behind the passenger seat and its behind the same spot on the drivers side. I used the stock sub location that's available and shallow mount subs. I will provide the info for it at the bottom.

Third: For the amplifier, I placed it up against the back wall so I didn't compromise my trunk space.

Finally: Here is the info for the complete Audio setup for my car. If you copy it, everything will work guaranteed. I bought everything off ebay and amazon.

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395 Receiver (headunit)
Kenwood Kfc-P709Ps 6.5-Inch Component Speaker (comes with door speakers and tweeters)
KICKER CVT6 6.5" 600W Shallow Subwoofers
Sony Xplod 4/3 channel 600W XM554ZR Amp (transferred it from my previous car, which was a Cobalt SS)
