Radio has a mind of its own
Hello! The radio in my Crossfire just randomly decides to not let me adjust the volume or change the station. Sometimes it just won't turn on at all. I've pulled and replaced the fuses, any suggestions?
2. get OEM radio from forum member that has upgraded to aftermarket head unit.
Maybe the egdes of the bottons are dirty and sticking. Try a Q-tip and a little alcohol and clean especially where they go through the face plate. Then ,with your finger push the bottons, feeling for hang up. Hope this helps.
Just in case, if it is any "hang ups" with the microprocessor (doubtful), get the "keys" at Walmart and pull the unit out of the dash.
Now, unplug the connector and leave it out for at least 1/2 minute. This way, you KNOW that you have "unpowered it".
But I suspect it's dirty/worn button contacts and a bad volume control (also dirty/worn).
Personally, for various reasons, I like the OEM head unit. There are several members who have lightly-used ones for sale (as mentioned above). BMorgan had one at one time, others do too!
