I need to repair/replace one of the subs in our roadster... anyone have a pictorial on that process? I have a buzz in the passenger side speaker, and I might try to fix it...

 

Did you get rid of the buzz, I have one coming behind the driver's seat speaker. Is it an easy fix. Thanks

 

The buzz is totally gone! The fix just takes some patience...not necessarily easy, but patience works. Find you a disposable camel brush, about 1/2 inch wide...cover the split in the foam with rubber cement applied by the brush. If the tear is long or goes across the foam, take a sheet of tissue paper and cover the tear after you apply the rubber cement, then put a layer on top. if at all possible, put rubber cement on the _back_ side of the foam, as well. Let dry for a few hours before pumping any sound through it. It's been a few weeks for me and I've had no problems. I am sorry I didn't take any photos when I did mine!

Careful when putting those subs back in, because you can bump it and it will come off....I lost a stud and had to order another.

 

UPDATE: More than a month down the road, tunes still sounding great!

I did take some pictures, will open a tread tonight. I am testing the speaker right now. I just wanted to try it out first, before giving any advice to somebody else
Subwoofer sounds as good as new and had been on for about 6 hours continuously right now.

 

Get an old speaker( same diameter as the subwoofer, I think it is 6" or 6.5) and peel off the spongy part slowly, using your nails...(takes about 10 minutes.)
Get a bottle of Rubber Cement from Hobby Lobby ($2.99)
rip off the broken one from the subwoofer and replace it with the new one.
wait for an hour or two and it is ready to go...
subwoofer sounds as good as a new one.
