I competed on and off for several years and was an installer myself, I had 2x12 type R alpine's in my last XF on an old, hand built PPI (precision power) amp and I hit nearly 140, I am shocked you are not doing much more than low 130s.

What exactly has been done? Number of amps? Double spun or aftermarket alternator? Battery isolator with multiple gel cell deep marine batteries? single or double 0 gauge wiring? 0 gauge ground?

Many more questions, just wanting some info, looks like a nice setup!

I had more than a few competition stereos, not just bass, either, the loudest hitting nearly 150dbs, but I was never silly enough to listen at anywhere near those levels while I was in the car

Well maybe a few times

Its is like when guys with 500+ HP cars say they have never tried anything on the street, yeah, right...

SPL SQL

Love the layout though. How badly does it beat the rear hatch?

I agree!

It just happens to be that good quality SQL stuff, tends to be able to handle power!

The hatch doesn't rattle as much as I thought it would. I'm running two amps, although I WISH I could hit 140 dbs or even 150.... at 130 right now I think I am satisfied with the listening levels inside the car....

I have 4 12 inch type r's and i'm only hitting 130 wonder what's wrong, these things only run 500 watts rms each, no?

Yes, they can handle a good clean 500+ watts each, but if you do not have an isolator, deep marine batteries, and an upgraded/aftermarket alternator, you aren't getting anywhere near the 500W each. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't an OEM electrical system on the planet that could supply an amp with enough current to produce 2000 watts, much less the fact that there are 2 amps.

I am sure it is plenty loud, I am just surprised you are not hitting more than low 130s...

This I did not know!
I'll talk to the guys down at Showtime Audio Chicago and have this done. AFAIK it is using the OEM electrical system.
