Aux. inputs
Can any one tell me if there is an Aux input on the back of the radio? I would like to plug in an iPod or mini- disk player into the system. If the system does not have one can one be added?
Thanks Al
Thanks Al
There are no Aux-in ports on the back of our head units. In looking at the back, it seems to have the connections for a CD changer which could be turned into aux-in. I don't know if our head units can run a CD changer (still have the capability that is).
At the moment you only have a couple of options;
1. Replace the head unit with one that does offer aux-in
2. Install an FM Modulator
3. Use a wireless FM transmitter (not an option for me, poor sound quality)

whatever connector carries audio (left, right, ground) for the aux or cd changer should also have an "enable" wire (a pin that "enables" aux in or cd changer when it sees contact, usually somewhere around 5V). either that or one of the pins is switched on ground. thats how my Miata's BOSE was set up anyway. might be worth experimenting with.
Just go to www.beckerautosound.com and you can post the question on the aux audio and any thing you want to know about the rdio in the Crossfire. They are very helpfull.

What CD-Changer will interface with the Chrysler Xfire standard Becker 6806 (non-gps) Radio. Also, do you need both the upper connector (pins 7/20) and the optical connector to interface, and where can I order the cables?....Thanks!..chris

At the moment, Crossfire radios are not CD changer compatable as per Chrysler Spec.

Thanks to Chris for posting the question....
Edit: Just to clarify, if the CD Changer port does not work then there is no "normal" way to get an Aux-in to work.
PS The system board in the Crossfire radio looks completely different than the Becker Monza which is CD Changer and Aux-in capable.
