Default Stock audio goes silent

Having had the car for a week I have noticed this problem
The audio works fine for about 15 minutes then after that goes silent.
Still has power and display is on just completely silent
Is this the head unit or amp
I am going to upgrade the head unit in a few months just wondering if there was an easy fix for the time being
Previous owner had let the battery go flat so not sure if that has done something
Cheers

Sometimes mine cuts out for a second when I hit bumps, anyone know why?

Get a set of removal tools for the head unit, pull it out and re-seat all the connectors.
If this is not a 'base' model, pull back the carpet on the passenger side and you will see a white metal frame held in place by 2 10 MM nuts.
Remove the nuts and fold it down, re-seat all the connectors on the large module ( this is the amp, the other one is the TCC if you have an automatic transmission )

Hope this helps.
