There is one thing you can do, pull BOTH fuses from the underhood fuse box for the radio. Leave them out 30 seconds.
When you put them back in, if the radio behaves, fine. If not, it's time for a new AM/FM head. If you want to stay "factory" (as bad a move as that is) there are factory heads for sale, used, for as little as $50 - some even work.
In 04/05, the fuses were 5 & 8 or 30 & 8. Fuse 23 is for the amplifier and does not apply. z
I can't say for sure what fuses it is in 06, look at the card in the fuse box.
