What battery 2022
What battery 2022
Need a battery. Not as easy to find as I hoped. Many of the recommended batteries on the forum are no longer made or not available. I am thinking of going with an Optima yellp top because O'Reilly near me has one. Anyone have a suggestion for alternatives?

Re: What battery 2022
I bought a Autozone Duralast battery with 760 cold cranking amps , going on 5 years I've had good service from it so I will probably buy another this year. I think as long as you go with a good name brand you'll be fine . Check the warranty info. Here's an
interesting fact: Most automotive batteries made in America are manufactured by one of two companies: Johnson Controls, Inc. or Exide Technologies. The dominant replacement market brand names, Interstate and DieHard, are both Johnson Controls products, as is the Optima brand. Exide Technologies markets batteries under the Exide, and NASCAR Select brand names, and has manufactured the Champion brand, as well. However, Champion batteries are now manufactured by Johnson Controls. The other large domestic battery manufacturer, Delphi Corporation, sold its automotive battery business to Johnson Controls in 2005.

Re: What battery 2022
I recently bought an Interstate battery that lists for $329. This is their MTZ-48/H6 which has 730 CCA and a 48 month warranty. It fits absolutely perfect. They also have another less expensive model for $229 with a 36 month warranty. Interstate batteries are quality batteries and have had a long history of commercial use.

Re: What battery 2022
Hi Spector01, It depends on how you 'use' your battery. IF you 'garage queen' your car then one that has a high CCA reserve/quality name, would suffice (at the lowest price you find). If a daily driver driven for at lease 15-20 minutes after warmup, just about any battery that fits in the carrier (full footprint) in the size recommended, should do the trick. Three things to check either way, 1, make sure it isn't some obscure off brand (haya-I-want-that-$ brand, and the like), 2, make sure all the cells are to the 'full mark' right after purchase (varies by brand/cell composition) with distilled (distilled without additives), and keep all the cables/connection points corrosion free and 'tight'. It doesn't hurt to once-a-month check the 'power-off (non running key out) voltage for a minimum of 12.5 or higher volts. IF the car is a garage queen, remove the 'NEG' cable during the times it is in extended non-use. You'll get the longest service life (unless a warranty is invoked for whatever reason) and if you think it necessary, put it on a charge once a week or so until it shows 'charged'. Most of the wet cell batteries are manufactured by two or three (last I heard) companies, so brand only means some deviation or advertising is influencing the end over the counter price. Good luck!
I use the MAXX Walmart battery, I've owned my car 13+ years and it is only the second battery I purchased for it. Price point counts, unless it doesn't

Re: What battery 2022
Diehard Platinum AGM from Advance Auto Parts is what I went with. About $225 so it wasn't cheap but I got so sick of dealing with cheap batteries in this car as this car eats them alive. When you're there get a quick disconnect you can attach to the battery and if you intend to let the car sit for more than 2 weeks disconnect the battery.

Re: What battery 2022
I go a different direction than others. I go buy a reasonably priced (under $150) battery that meets our specifications and size.
Then, at 48 months, I buy a new battery.
And this is not just what I do with the Crossfire, my Ford Ranger gets the same treatment.. I do this for several reasons that all have to do with:
1) Being stranded by a bad battery.
2) Loosing a seat belt module due to a weak battery.
3) Reading all the stories here and on Facebook over the last thirteen years about how someone fought an issue with a Crossfire, only to replace the battery and see issues go away.
4) Remembering how, in 2010, I had a company Dodge Durango and one day, it would crank and start, when I let go of the key, the engine died. It refused to start. Got towed to my boss's favorite garage. They spend over an hour, could not start it. Some old guy said, 'change the battery'. After some time, they tried that. Durango started and ran fine!
The message I got: A battery every four years is cheaper than a tow, it can eliminate being stranded, and it might just save one of those expensive modules in the car.
Remember, your battery is:
Your car's secondary voltage regulator
Your car's primary ripple filter (ripple from the three-phase output of the alternator)
Your car's noise (electrical noise) filter
Finally, the battery provides the capacitance needed to filter out the spike of the starter (and other large motors) from being fed into the car's modules.
Providing 300 amps to turn the engine over is just PART of the battery's job. A weakened battery can still spin the engine over, but not be able to do as effective of a job at the tasks above as when it's new, strong and healthy.

Re: What battery 2022
+1 on disconnecting your battery when not in use. We own a 1991 Mustang LX 5.0, which my Wife has owned since new. It has more or less lived under a car cover for right at 20 years, now. Right before it was put in storage, I put an Optima red top battery in it. About 10 years in, we had left it connected, and the battery went flat. That is the death knell for AGM batteries, and this one was no different. We put a regular charger on it to no more avail then that I could get the car started, and then after a few hours of sitting, it would be dead. I put a trickle charger on it (made for AGM & Li-Ion batteries) for a couple of weeks, and wouldn't you know it, the battery came back to life. It is still in the car, after a total of 20 years, and if I connect the cable today, it will start the car right up.
Anyway, disconnect the battery if you're not going to drive the car for more than a few weeks.

Re: What battery 2022
Good advice, If you install one like advised @ Heavy Duty (HD), make sure it'll handle the starting current for the time it takes for the car to start. Also, when you turn that switch back on give it a few seconds to stabilize the car's electronics. You have to install this on the NEG cable before any other wires (accessories you added) attached to the NEG at the battery, or a back-feed may hurt any equipment you installed (and if it is 'always-on' or internally completing a circuit), it will back-feed and draining the battery regardless, and maybe burn up something electrical in the car. Reason installed on the NEG side, you want to isolate the negative of the car, the alarm is designed to sense a tampering (removal/isolation) of the positive as an attempt of intrusion/theft, alarm will sound if alarm is working. Good luck!

Re: What battery 2022
Agreed Graphite Ghost. I believe I said connect in series with the battery ground cable which is negative. I am not familiar with the 3.2L starter motor power consumption specs. The switch shown can handle 20amps continuous and 125-amp spikes (1.5 KW).
Many of the idle operation power consumption issues cited are real but diagnosing some as being the potential cause for battery drain could be a wasted exercise. This is based on my personal belief that the quality and durability of some of today's batteries are not what they are advertised to be. I recently replaced a 2-year-old NAPA battery that would not hold a charge for more than a week. This battery was continuously maintained with a tender and never exposed to severe cold temperatures. I replaced it with an Interstate and no longer experience any failure related issues.

I purchased a FREYR battery. Additionally, its cost is average. You can purchase it. Are you trying to find crime? And you need professional assistance who can provide you with all the information you need. Writing an essay and conducting research on cybercrime are both incredibly challenging tasks. However, I came across this article at writinguniverse.com/free-essay-examples/crime/ You can use the advice in this post to resolve your issue.
