Default Radio power

I usually listen to the Sirius XM app through FM by use of a transmitter with my factory radio. Today I noticed the screen is blank, cannot use the buttons or volume on the radio. The Sirius still comes through perfectly. What would cause that? Fuse? I'm assuming the amplifier works because I'm still getting sound.

The screen and buttons usually interface with the receiver and microprocessor thru a common interface. That interface has failed or connections from the main board to the front panel have failed.
We know this because of everything that still works. Your options are to find another pitiful OEM head or to upgrade to something that does not date back to the 1990s.

Yes, you can find OEM heads on the used market, if you don't mind spending way too much for old crap.

I was hoping it would be the fuse in back of the radio. Guess my cd will be stuck in there for good. Thanks for your help.

my radio just started doing the exact same thing yesterday, no further suggestions on what connection may have failed?

Since I made this post my radio started working, sort of..... It will sometimes work perfectly and then other times it will not even turn on. One day i was listening to a cd and i couldn't change the volume. The next day, nothing. It wouldn't even turn on. The last time I used it it worked fine. I guess I'm going to use it till it craps out and see if I can get a replacement factory head.

All either of you can do is find a used Factory Radio head or buy an aftermarket head.
There is no service information available for the factory heads and you'd be nuts to pay $90-110 an hour (going rate) for service anyway.

I picked up a JVC for $85 I like but it's all black. It matches my custom interior but marine units from Kenwood or JVC are a better cosmetic match.
YOu will need an antenna adapter. You can get a conversion harness for all the other wiring, but I didnt use one, I wired directly into the existing harness as I found that easier.

I went the screen option that comes with Android/Apple Play, Bluetooth, navigation and a microphone so you can receive calls through the speakers etc. Really like it. They have different sizes I went with the 7 inch. You can told it up and down, back and forth and side to side so all buttons behind it are easily accessible.
Bought at Best Buy on sale and they installed for free. I love this thing.

Yes it's a Boss and honestly great sound quality, can set the button color to match the crossfire yellow/greenish backlight and it's not expensive at all. I have a backup cam so the screen is nice and big enough for that too. Can only recommend.
