Default Pump and Security Module

'04 Coupe.
I wanted to check the connectors on the CLP/SSM in right rear.. Manual says to "remove foam". Except the foam is locked in place by the trim on side and back. Removed the pop inserts but does not budge, can only remove taillight access ports. How do I remove the trim to be able to remove the foam please ? YWTK

Should just be push pins holding the panels in place except I remember one that screws in.

Push pins are removed, is like everything is glued together.

The cluster has 4 screws that hold it in place. Have you removed those?

To access the pump in the trunk you have to remove back panel and the beige top panels. Then you can remove the foam and get to the pump.

Or you can just remove the rubber plugs from the bottom and see if water comes out. If no water leave the plugs out and forget about it.

Thank you but pump/locking works just fine, no problem there, only from console switch. Just since fobs do not work was looking for a way to lock hatch from outside. Suspect will have to go back to console switch and see if I can add something there just schematic is odd. Ground one way and through a resistance the other. Just have to remove radio to gain access. OTOH I have a new Android Auto radio but need to solder together a harness adapter first. Always something and these days just try to get one thing done per day.

The side trim comes out by pulling it down and toward the centre of the trunk after the approximate six fasteners are removed. It is slightly trapped at the forward end, You will then be able to see the wire loom that goes to the CLP/SSM. You can at least test for current in any wire here.
To actually get to the pump, the upper trim panel has to be removed and then the rear black trim panel is removed. It covers the rear foam which when removed enables you to see the foam covered CLP/SSM. Getting the pump out of its foam casing is another feat you have to overcome. I never had to go that far, thankfully.
I do not recommend taking out the side upper panel it is a real bear to reinstall, I was lucky to have bluecoupe get into the trunk and reinstall the fasteners. But if you have to then you have no choice if you wish to see pump.
Some people have cut the foam block into two pieces to remove it, I would not do it but that is just me.
