After much deliberation I decided to go with the Joying 8.8 single DIN unit with backup camera. Thanks to Rudy yet again for the installation. I haven’t had time to play much as we got done around 1:00am last night. We also did the capacitor thing with the speakers though to me they still sound like garbage so we’ll be doing a speaker swap in the spring.
The screen is crystal clear and very responsive. Backup camera works great. I wanted a unit that looked as close to stock as possible and with no double DIN housings available I believe this is the best bet.
It is hard to say but the call quality is clear, hey siri works great and the rest of CarPlay is of course functional. I bought an external volume **** but we didn’t install it yet. The volume is on touch screen only and requires two touches to get to it. A swipe down and a tap on the sound icon.
I can give a longer term review but as of now I can recommend. The video is too big so I’ll attach it once I upload to Vimeo or YouTube.
Correct. same. I did Alcantara and logo on the airbag part. Looks great. My leather was a little off they said they'd fix but with paddles on just going to leave it

You'll love that 8.8, I have the same one I got off of AliExpress, 6GB Ram, 128GB Flash, UIS7862S Processor, just check that you're on the latest version, the one mine shipped with had an update available I pulled from the Joying site. I also bought a TPMS kit to plug into the USB port on the back & OBDLink to pair with Torque and used Tasker to autostart all those apps on startup.
Really an amazing headunit for the money. My only complaint is as with all Chinese Radios the RCAs aren't Grounded well, if you can ground them with some wire to the chassis it eliminates those issues or use the Optical out.

It is cold here so that car is sitting, I’m in WI. I’d like to hear how you did the TPMS sensor and OBD thing.
Also I was going to do a new amp and speakers have you done that? Any advice?
TPMS was a kit I bought off of AliExpress for $20 came with 4 new sensors but I'd assume if you already have 433mhz tpms you dont need to buy new ones if you know the ID. It has a dongle that plugs into the back of the radio to act as a receiver/antenna for the sensors and shows temp and pressure to the tenth.
OBD2 is just a Bluetooth dongle and torque pro, I had ObdLink MX+ from a previous car and just leave it connected. The Tasker app auto-starts those apps when you turn the car on since when going into fast standby it closes all apps.
New amp and speakers were easy, just plugged into Analog RCAs, but had some alternator noise. Grounding the RCAs helped. The amp I bought was small enough to fit in the existing amp location in the passenger floorboard. The only thing you'll need to do is enable external amp under sound settings on the radio.
Will update more in depth and with links when I'm back home

OBDlink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Dongle for Torque - https://a.co/d/hxbLc78 (This is an expensive one that updates a bit faster than regular ones, but you can buy a $10 ELM327 Dongle and it'll work fine too)
TASKER - https://tasker.joaoapps.com/ (I use this to kickstart the apps I want running in the background, IFTTT might work but I read that on radio's it may not work since it put all apps to sleep. IFTTT is a lot easier to use)
RCA Grounding Mod - Yes this looks Ghetto as hell, Yes it works, Yes most every android Radio I've had has had alternator/engine noise if using an external amp. The RCAs are all poorly grounded. This 8.8 unit has a SPDIF/Digital out so If you have a high end amp or DAC just use that to avoid this. I just connected them to the Ground wire for the radio and it fixed the noise.
RCA Ground mod on a pioneer unit.

How can you use XM Radio on this unit ?
Thanks, Ken
out of the box no, but if there is an XM Radio App for Android I would assume absolutely you can, if not then you would need probably a USB XM radio type thing is the only way I can see that working. If you know of an XM Radio app I can download and test it.
