Default running power wire...

Hey guys I'm getting a new sub setup. I need to run some power wire! I need to run some 1/0 gauge! I know there is the grommet under the battery tray. question is where do I run the power wire through the interior and how do I get it into the trunk area without just running it over the wall behind the seats? Also where is a good grounding point?

remove the trunk interior carpeted panels and pull back the panel behind the seats there is a pass through on either side that is packed with foam, plenty of room.

brent245,

On grounding part of your question: Keep ground wire short as possible. Ground should be made to metal. (Use sandpaper to remove paint and primer till you see metal. Make sure ground wire is tight both at amp and at chase point.)

Good Luck,
Sandman

PS. if you are running a 1/O power kit, that means you are running a big amp, make sure the power draw is not going to take more current then your Alt. can provide.

I am running a hifonics bx1500d it's probably not even needed.
I plan on doing other audio upgrades in the future so I figure it is logical to get the big wire first so I don't have to rewire later. Gonna do the big 3 while i'm at it as well. the stock amp is pretty stout at 115 amps. most cars run around 100-110 amps.

I use 1/0 its fairly easy to run. pull the door sill panel out then there is a small plastic piece under the triangle window then pull the plastic piece that goes across behind the seats. be very careful not to break these pieces. now pull the carpet on the passenger side up run the wire through the grommet that you know run it under the computer under the foam run it to the side of the seat up the wall to below the window there is a perfect spot to run over the wall you will see this spot when you take the panel out that goes behind the seats. let me know if you have any more questions.
