If you click on the link I provided for the Canadian Transportation Museum & Heritage Village web site, you now get an error message saying the account has been suspended!

Good grief!!

Well, the whole site seemed a bit Mickey Mouse to me. They didn't have directions on how to get there or where they were as far as I could tell, its likely behind a Tim Hortons. It's probably run by a group of volunteers who haven't quite got their act together and are down South for the winter. Only in Canada (except for the winter), pity.
This article calls it a labor of love, we all know love has its ups and downs. I guess its a down time.

Hey, what's wrong with being down south for the winter, EH?

Updated information:
I thought it would be a good idea to actually phone the museum and find out what's up and notify them of our intentions. So this is what I can tell you.

Our contact is Mary-Ann who was very helpful in answering all my questions. The museum in open from 9a.m. to 4p.m. and she has penciled our group in as attending, likely arriving aroung 1p.m. no later then 2p.m. I have told her the group would likely be around a dozen, could be more. She will assign a tour guide for us and suggests you need between 90 minutes to 2hrs to see everything, including whatever questions one may have. Their is also an adjacent Ambulance museum that is included in the admission price of $6 ea. Behind the museum is the Heritage Village who coincidently is hosting a murder mystery dinner theater that same day in the evening. Something you may want to consider if you are staying over night....
Lastly, the museum has a restaurant that closes at 2p.m.

So all we can hope for is dry weather and a number of folks attending to make this happen. I'll keep you all posted as things come together. I am encouraged by the response already, but as I mentioned in the beginning, there will be a LOT of driving.
The thought of a dozen Crossfires leaving Woodstock and heading down the #401 in a caravan, sun shining and spring in the air does leave something to desire....!

I will be in for that. I will be there early to gtg before the gtg if that made any sence

There is a Tim Hortons on Norwich Ave right off the hwy. First exit after where the 401 and the 403 join. Just a sudgestion!

Notice to Folks regarding our GTG

Their seems to be concern about this site disappearing. I am asking those that have indicated interest in our May 8th GTG to send me a private message at this site, giving me an email address where I can contact you, in the event this site goes down.

Cheers

Tony

Tony, your concerns are valid...............I know that it is around this time of year that the site renewal comes up.

My suggestion for your consideration.............if the site goes down, walk over to the other site.......crossfirecommunity.net and use the 'hook-up' topic. It will be very transparent.
I hope my post survives..........if you know what I mean?

Sorry, I don't want to post it on the internet right now. You would agree it's easier to receive private messages rather I go and chase everyone down with private messages....

How about... IF.... something happens to this site then just go over to .net It is free and easily accessiable to everyone just like this site. I do not go on that site but I will if something happens to this one to see whats goin on. No big deal... Maybe just post this gtg over there just as a back up so we dont forget the dates and time. No use being concerned about this site shutting down. I doubt it will.

I talked to Administrator on .net site and she says that you are quite welcome to post 'hook-up' on that site regardless of what happens to .org.

They are all Xfire owners and some would be interested in knowing what's happening in other parts of the continent. Also, you can find out about the 'hook-ups' that are occurring down in southwest.
