Summer wheels mounted... yea!
Put the summer wheels on last weekend and had the Crossfire out yesterday for its first run of the year. Had to re-set the FSS, other then that, the car is running great as it did when parked last November for winter.....had to take one of the run-flats in (winter wheel set) for a slow leak repair. Believe it or not, this is the second winter where I have mounted winter wheels (Blizzak Run Flats) only to have the car sit in the garage all season....I just can't bring myself to drive it in the winter...
Getting a runflat repaired is a little more complicated...usually punctures are not repairable, but slow rim leaks are. The challenge is finding a shop that is "Run Flat Authorized", which simply means the machine they use is heavy duty that can handle the stiff sidewalls. Most shops don't have the machine. Sure enough, all the local shops in my neighbourhood turned me away...I ended up at a Firestone shop...I knew the repair would cost more then a typical repair, but wasn't prepared for the $120 cost of repairing a slow leak! Yep, $120 to remove the tire, remount and rebalance, assuming the leak is not the valve, in which case you add the price of a new valve, and if you insist on a TPMS, more money...ouch!
I pick up the tire today or tomorrow....
Looking forward to our meets this coming summer...Fleetwood Cruise likely,
Woodward for sure, Tail of the Dragon end of September for sure, anything for spring planned? I suggested a weekend spring trip to the RM Museum a couple of months ago...anyone have any suggestions?...

Good News....I picked up my runflat today....Firestone is not charging me anything. The leak was nothing more then the valve stem that came loose and needed tightening.....

I am assuming folks will be arriving Friday but didn't know how many days you and others are staying for so I only booked two nights. Leaving late Sunday to head home.....
I'm thinking it would be wise to make a reservation for the Woodward meet as well but don't see confirmation of what hotel the Crossfire folks are staying at...same one as last year maybe?
