longest running member
just wondering who the longest running member who still comes around is. i'm pretty sure andrew is the longest one posting, and knowit is around there too, but maybe some of you old timers lurk and don't post...
I guess I "lurk" most of the time and post every now and then. I joined up in July of 2003. I was an early member but not the first. I find most of you guys and gals will answer questions before I can get to it.

what's even more interesting is to see how many of the original members only were active for a week or less. i didn't realize so many people joined early in '03. pretty interesting.
It is funny how excited my wife and I were in purchasing our Crossfire in July of 2003. What's even funnier was how little (I knew more cause I read the brochure), than the salesman knew about the car. Since the insurance company had no idea what I bought, I figured I had better check the internet for at least justification of our purchase (I will admit to paying more than 90% of you). That's where I found this forum. But you know what, I don't care because it's paid for and doesn't give us anything but pleasure and just plain old FUNNN!!!
It's not an investment, but an enjoyment of life itself. After chemo and radiation, it means even more.

Punkin - First of all If I had the money back in June of '03 I'd have bought the Crossfire off the showroom floor...the dealer wanted $37,000 FIRM. So don't feel bad. I saw the car for the first time and my heart just melted. I was there to buy a Turbo PT. The salesman made the mistake of letting me sit in the Crossfire. I took home a shiny new GT Cruiser but the burn was always there for the Crossfire. Took a long time to find the right deal but last summer it finally came to pass. In my travels to get a deal I met some sales reps that didn't have a clue and a few that actually knew what they were selling, it was the same with the PT's I owned. As for the insurance company not knowing what you had, that doesn't surprise me. I sell insurance and I get asked all the time who makes a (insert the car of your choice). By and large only some of the older agents know what car is what. Unless you have a car nut like me for an agent most of them are clueless.
I don't know who's been here the longest but I know this place has been a huge help in understanding my car and the few problems I've encountered so far. Enjoy your car and I hope you are doing well.

Patpur,
Thanks for the words. I have never felt better in all my life! I like the crossfire so much I've tried and tried to talk my wife into letting me get my own personal one but remodeling and "stuff" always gets in the way. I'd get into trouble anyway cause I want a SRT-6.
(but then again, which one us doesn't)
