Hey guys ~ (Tino and forum members alike):

I'm wondering whether this new grille would need any of the stock grill components to install (attach to). Since I already have the CTD chrome grille installed in my car, that would mean I would have to purchase a new OEM stock grille before I can purchase the new CTD mesh grille!!

I certainly hope that I am mistaken, and that the standard factory grille will have to be removed before the mesh grille can be installed (it does look to be set-up that way from the picture).

Crossing my fingers on this one...

xfirecorea:

the CTD grille is a full replacement grille. that means: remove the original grille and install the CTD grille at the original mounting points. installation in only a few minutes. if you want, you can change between CTD chrome and CTD mesh grille every day. ;-)

there will be no chrome option, because its not possible to chrome FRP parts. to make it in chrome we must make a tool for a ABS plastic part. and this will be too expensive.

i hope you understand. also i think the polished chrome shiny mesh is bright enough on the front end of your x-fire. (upper and lower grille of course). ;-)

and even you said it would look better with a smaller mesh. just wait till peoples engines get all banged up from rocks flying through those huge gaps.

umm...has the mesh been decided yet? if that's the mesh used, i think that may eliminate 40-50% of the prospective buyers...i know i was counting on something around this thick -- don't get me wrong i like the design, but...

Actually it's been 6 months; most people with a brain would realize that June was more than one month ago. Why is it every conflict you get into you bring up the fact that you have been here for awhile? What exactly are you hoping to prove by this? Do you really think I care whether or not you have been sitting at your computer since 2004 littering the this particular forum with negative garbage? Please, I have been on car forums long enough to know your type. In regards to the mesh, if that large mesh is used I would not even consider buying one. But, I'm not going to sit here and talk badly about the product when others obviously show interest. Tino needs to use thicker and smaller mesh for this grill or it will look like a cheap tuner product, hands down. But, I believe that aspect of the grill is still open for discussion. Can we please get an answer to this issue Tino, as it has been brought up numerous times. WILL YOU GIVE US A BETTER MESH?

your right...you caught me, i'm the one surviving human without a brain. fact is too many people here have been fanboys of this thing with no results. and btw i have been one of the many members here that supports everyone who mods their car, but this one has been a bunch of b.s. and now the product looks like crap, something you also admit too. the only point i raise with my tenor is that i have seen many mods build excitement then disappear because of poor quality or because they never came to fruition. so don't take it personally, just consider me the forum reality check. don't get so pissed, its the internet. and have you really read all my comments for the last two and a half years? if you have i guess that would give you the right to pass judgment on all the comments i have made. i doubt it, get a job and stop wasting your time trying to make me look stupid, especially when you just end up agreeing with me. and remind me, what amazing advances have you made for the crossfire?

regarding the mesh:

the dimensions of this mesh on the picture is 8mm by 8mm each square of the mesh. we can also insert a 7, 1mm by 7, 1mm mesh. exactly the same mesh (8mm mesh) is used in the jaguar xjr grilles and they don't have any problems with rocks.

the 300c grille should have the same size. maybe someone can check it, so you can compare the sizes.

a price is not set yet. i must check out how much painting is, if i have the final version of the grille.

Good work Tino, as anything in life you always have negative people that try and drag you into their muck. They think things just poof and appear. LOL do not listen to these morons, I know you have to do things that make you money as a business. These little children with their fanboy comments just serve to create misery.

Has it been long since I brought this up to you in February? Yeah. But we understand that something nice takes time. We gave you our feedback on the first grill and you listened. So again thanks for putting up with the azzholes here. There are plenty of people interested in your products.

/rant.

edit: Oh and if you think rocks are going to bang up your engine from that mesh you are the moron. Take another look genius, its identical to what you'll find on Jaguars. Gee they sure do have banged up motors those Jaguars. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUY IT. PERIOD. BUT STOP TRYING TO CONVINCE EVERYONE HERE THAT WE REALLY DON'T LIKE IT. STOP TALKING.

WOW!
Such passions, If it isn't what someone wants they can always design and build their own. There is nothing on this Earth that fits everyone's taste, It is impossible. That is why there are so many different automobile styles.

Ok what is PU? Over what other material? and what is the advantage. I hope the quality is in the mesh because I certainly don't want to be cleaning surface rust of a mesh grille. Way to much salt used here in Ohio!!

PU = polyurethane

we made only frame in PU. the whole frame.

the mesh is made of stainless steel, so you don't get any problems with rust.

Maybe this was mentioned earlier, but what was the estimated price for us if we did a group buy.
