aero blues... new stripes...
Honestly, I like the way Former did his compared to how I did mine, oh well, different is good.
Another idea that I had which is something that someone else here said, they spoke about a racing stripe like a checker flag, now that would be cool as hell.

FYI...the monokote suggestion was just right. I found some two foot lengths of Airplane striping material at a local Hobby shop (Monokote is a brand name, so I don't know if it's actual Monokote) but that was perfect.
Voila XF Forum "secret hand shake stripes!"

OK, I added my stripes.
I went with black and after applying them and then opening the door, the first thing seen is all the black from the weather-stripping and the sills. so the black is a good match. I couldn't find matte black. I might keep looking for the matte though. Debated dark gray, something close to the interior, but as I said, the black all came together. The stripes are 2-3/8" wide and the space just fell together after applying the rear stripe. I used the Monokote also. I couldn't believe all the colors AND patterns ... I saw one that looked like a checkered flag.

Dave,
Let me know if you have any trouble finding it. There's a hobby store in Rockville that carries that stuff and it's only like $3.75 a sheet (one sheet will do both sides if you don't make a mistake).
Sooner or later, I'm gonna have them painted on...I really like the look.

I have to agree with David that the black is a little stark against the Alabaster. You might want to try a dark matte gray. Just a thought.

I have been flying r/c airplanes since I was 7...And I am very familiar with monokote and I know it is applied with an iron, are you guys talking about an adhesive type back or actually using an iron?
Also are slasher stripes still available? I need a set for my white 04na
I am thinking about this color with the limited in the grey....was thinking about getting the sparkly grey like boats have though, think that would look killer.

This is an adhesive backed monokote - basically just a nice thin, glossy, silvery looking vinyl. I got mine through the online hobby store linked to somewhere here on the forum and cut it to shape, using the angle of the lower part of the door as a guide for proper angle. I then cleaned the area where they were to be applied with some isopropyl alcohol and laid 'em on. Haven't had a problem with them since the install, and the color is a dead match for all the other silver trim on the car.
