Interstate Miles
I cry just about everytime I wash my car and I get to my front bumper and see how all the interstate driving. Take a look I've just returned from a 180 mile road trip. Is there anything I can do to prevent this problem?
Yes, buy a front end cover (Bra) for the car. Chrysler makes a fairly nice one. I use it everyday, minus the hood portion, as I drive interstate back and forth to work. I have no front end chips at almost 17,000 miles. The cover comes off on weekends for local driving, on two lane roads. Just remember, keep the car waxed under the cover, and never leave a wet cover on the paint, especially in hot sun. I have been using them since 1979, and never had a problem, as long as I followed the above recommendations.
Or, you can get the clear cover(3M type) which is permanently attached to the car. The only problem I have seen, is these do take the rock hits, but the damage to the plastic is visible. This is one of those, "to each his own" decisions.

Even on short rides mine looks like that. I keep a wet rag in a plastic bag and try to wipe off the front whenever I stop. This keeps it from sticking so bad. I must kill a hundred bugs with each ride.
You definitely need to invest in the 3M clear bra kit to minimize the daily road damage. I also recommend the Chrysler bra for road trips, mine has save my car from serious rocks and debris while we have been cruising down the interstate. The two little air dams do help direct some of the debris over the top of the car. However, I don't recommend using the Chrysler bra without the 3M underneath because dirt and moisture between the car and the bra will end up damaging your paint. Neither bra will save your paint or windshield when you exceed 140 mph then sand and dirt in the air ends up leaving small little slices in your paint where it's not covered and you end up with pits in your glass. The paint I was able to repair with factory touch up paint and the LANGKA 3 piece repair process, however, the windshield has small cloudy patches in direct sunlight. To avoid anymore damage I stay below 120 mph.
