Default How many use the Auto-Stick feature?

I've had my XFire for about 9 months now. Haven't used the Auto-Stick feature until recently. Car really feels likes its pulling more as I go through the gears. Anyone else play with their 'stick?

Jag80 the only time I use the Auto Stick is either going up or down long steep grades. I like to keep the RPMs up when I go into the curves. Otherwise, I just leave it in Drive.

I use it all the time! I love it - allows me to slow down without using the brake at lights... It also gives me the feeling of driving a stick shift - something I would never own with all the city driving I do.

I only use it in hilly country around the hinterland or in slow traffic situations.

I use it rarely. When I do its to slow down usually entering a cloverleaf or something similar.

I use it often, except when driving to work as it is only 4 miles and my eyes are not fully open yet.
When driving for fun I enjoy up and down shifting it.

My wife had a 300M with autostick and never used it after the first day. Her son now has the car and has never used it. Her dad (an automotive engineer from Texas) used it all the time when he was out here visiting. I use mine (6 speed manual all the time)!

I use mine all the time. It's fun to play with pulling away from lights and when other car drivers start giving you the eyeball on the interstate just drop it into 3rd and floor it, You'll blast away. It kind of freaks them out.

I use it about 40% of the time, twisty roads, slowing down (as noted) for ramps, etc. Honestly, it's a great feature that gives you the feel of a manual (somewhat). The one thing I don't like is the down shifting, it's not sequential...I've had it jump from 4th to 2nd under braking, when I really wanted third...I imagine it's picking the optimal gear, but you can't have everything.

If you bump it to the left quickly it will go down 1 gear. If you hold it to the left for about 2 seconds it will pick the lowest safe gear for speed and rpm.
Hope this helps.
Many people don't realize this feature.
Also if you hold it to the right for 2 sec. it will go back to drive.

I utilize the 'Auto-Stick' quite a bit. It's most useful for keeping better control of the vehicle when in curves as you can feather the RPM and not have to worry about jumping up a gear.

It's also useful as mentioned for assisting the braking system for slowdown. I mainly use that part of it on a downgrade that leads to a light, stop sign or sharp turn.

It will never allow you to go lower than is safe for the engine or transmission. When I'm slowing for a light I just keep bumping to the left as I come down in speed until the 1st gear pops up... shortly after, the transmission usually drops to 1st. So it will display or select a gear without actually going into it.

Lovin it!

If you pull it over and hold it there for a second or two, it will go to the lowest possible gear that the computer will allow. The same with shifting up. If your holding it in 1st or 2nd and then decide that you don't need to hold those gears any longer, just hold it to the right for a second or two and it will go straight to "D", or the next gear that is needed for the speed you are at. Your indicator will go to "D".

My Crossfire Roadster is a 6 speed, but I have AutoStick in my 300M. It is a nice feature. I use it manly for holding speed on sharp downgrades in my neighborhood. It is great on winding roads. If I buy another auto I will definitely insist on another autostick.
