More trade-in bad news
More trade-in bad news
Not that I don't like my coupe... but I thought I would see if I could "upgrade" to a SRT Convertible.
Some basics first:
2004 Black limited 6 speed, leather,w/ 5,000 miles, no nav = Trade In.
2005 Black SRT Convertible (new) 10 miles = The one I want.
I didn't get a real price on the SRT yet because it's on E-bay.
Current offer around $28,000.
The dealer is in Mass. But after a couple of e-mails I was offered
$14 - $15,000 for my trade sight unseen, and the dealer said
he would "entertain" offers.
Not quite what I had in mind.
I was hoping for around a $17,000 trade in... oh,well.

Cross1 are you trying to trade with the dealer offering the SRT6 at a firesale price? If so, think about it, they are losing money on the SRT so they will make up for it by offering less.
Even if it is a different Chrysler dealer (or any other brand for that matter) they want to pay you low wholesale. One of the only ways to get more money for your trade-in is to pay an inflated price on the car you are trading for.
Try taking your car to a Carmax. They usually offer a fair price and will buy your car even if you don't buy one of theirs.
I did this before I got my SRT. I wound up trading in my Z4 for the SRT6 because the dealer matched the Carmax offer.

do with it.
Just my thoughts...

Just a suggestion for you. We were out looking for a car for my daughter a few weeks ago and all the dealers we went to offered her less than Carmax had offered her. When we mentioned it they said they would honor the Carmax numbers if we showed them the Carmax offer to buy her car. One dealer trade in was almost $1,500 less than the Carmax offer. The suggestion is get an offer from Carmax and take it with you when you shop. See what the dealer will give you and then ask him to match the Carmax price.
