Default Oil filter

Hi guys, need some knowledge here, and hopefully this thread would help with anyone that is confused with the oil filter situation.

I read on here that the new fleece filter is 05114263AA with MB#0001802609, white with yellow end tips, and that the old one is 05183748AA.

I went to the Chrysler dealership and they tried to sell me 05183748AA, it is white with black end tips. The guy said that is the newest latest from Chrysler that is updated, and that the part number is updated as well.

Anyone know about this? Thanks.

P.S. I have researched the archives and that is how I know what is suppose to be the updated part number, just checking if the parts guy is legit on what he is saying.

Thumbs up Re: Oil filter

Thanks a lot, I was reading prior threads about this and it was conflicting, saying the 05183748AA was the older one, but the dealership said it was the newest one.

Also the threads I read said to look for a white filter with yellow end caps, there was even a picture I saw. The new one was white with black end caps.

Thanks again, if anyone else can confirm this, you would be most helpful.

My feeling is if I buy it from the dealer and it jacks up my car, guess who's going to have a problem with it? Yea... me...
