Default Handling the Elements...

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of picking up a 2004 Crossfire (found a great deal) unfortunately, I don't have a garage or anything to cover it with. I live up in Calgary, Alberta where the weather seems to change at the drop of a hat. Even in this past week we've gone from snow, rain, to freezing rain. Would the Crossfire be able to deal with the outdoor conditions? Surely there's a point of "babying" the car, but I am curious if anybody has had any good (or bad) experiences leaving their Crossfire uncovered during all the seasons?

Would a car cover be a good investment?

Thanks,

Jared

Hey Gwetoe, didn't I see your car going down the road with the cover on it in an "Enterprise Rental" TV ad?

The car cover works. I washed my xfire a month ago. It has snowed vseveral times after that n even rained. The car is clean. It is a very good investment if you don't have a garage.

so long as you do not buy a inexpensive universal cover it will make all the difference in the world... the less expensive covers trap moisture which will ruin the paint... mopar cover for it is $200 - $300 bux...

I live in Scotland in the U.K. and we can get all four seasons in one day.
I leave my car outside as my bike is in the garage.
Had no problems and I don't have a car cover.

Norrie.

Mine sits outside about 50% of the time and other than cleaning the snow off of it I've only had one problem. I left it with the front wheels directly under an overflowing gutter on a night that turned cold. The next day it started to vibrate at about 40 mph. The freezing water from the gutter had formed ice covers on some of the wheel spokes unbalancing the front wheels. It stayed inside the next night and the problem (and the ice) went away.

Andrew,

I did look at autoanything.com. But after comparing the 2 I decided to go with directcarcovers.com. The cover fits like a glove and keeps the moisture and dust out.

Getting the xfire = good for you.

A car cover would be a good investment if your xfire staying inactive for a long period of time. Be it outdoor or in a garage.
I did that when I had to leave it for Australia, 4 months in my uncle's "not enclosed" garage.

Since I drive it daily, its inconvenient to undo 7 am everyday.

Still its just imho.
