Arcrist,
Did it occur to you that maybe she doesn't dislike and is, in fact, interested in you romantically? You're young, possibly single (you didn't say), own a house and drive a sports car. What has she got? A nicotine habit, a 4 year-old, and probably a dead-beat ex.

Perhaps this should move to the "I'm more attractive in my Crossfire" thread.

Arcrist,

I totally feel your pain. My friends (ages 20-35, and i'm 27) seem to think that to close a door you have to use your ENTIRE FREAKEN hand on the door (not handle) to close a door. It makes me so mad. My favorite is when you are talking to someone outside your window and they think the hood or roof is a great place for a hand rest!

When I was 4 if had even thought about doing that to someone's personal property my dad would have smacked me into next week. Don't understand some parents these days!!!

Good luck!

Unhappy Re: I don't understand people...

Tell me about it ! I live in the UK and it's no better the other side of the pond ! I currently own a beautiful 80's shinny red Ferrari and if I leave it anywhere for more than 3 seconds, I come back to a sea of finger marks, grease prints and the occasional scratch !

The funny thing is that I am selling the Ferrari to buy the second most beautiful car in the world... a XF because I hope to be able to leave it in a car park for more than 10 minutes without breaking into a cold sweat !

We can all live in hope !

I am just excited when i see a Car enthusiast under the age of 25 that DOESN'T have a Hon-DUH with a fart can, 4' high aluminum spoiler(on the rear of their FWD car), and 18 "type R" stickers covering up the 1/4 panel rust! Major props to young people who own crossfires, NOT jealousy!

Arcrist, it's O.K. You have to let people know that you deserve respect. It's great to share the joy of the Crossfire as long as people respect it and what you've invested in it.

Disrespectful neighbors... every neighborhood has them but you can't shoot them. This world is full of sick, nasty people who try to bring everyone else (the majority of good, honest people) down to their level.
I'm a big Eugene Stoner fan myself (look it up) but I say kill em with kindness and everyone will respect you for it. Including the most important person... yourself.

Ramble over...
Be kind, Gentle and own big guns just in case.
Peace.

Everyone in my office knows what car I have, so whenever someone talks about it they sing the name, its kinda hard to explain but like. CrossFiyaaa

The car respect thing is tough - I have a few other cars other than the Crossfire, and they are in original 30 year old paint, a little rough, and it is amazing how people can be disrespectful to them because they are 'old' - it comes down to those who have had to work hard for their things, be it those that are rough but have had a lot of time and energy put into them to keep them shiny, or new and more expensive that took (or are taking) many years of hard earned $$ to get -
We live in the country, in a 100 year old fixer farm house, with a wood floor barn we keep the Crossfire and my Demon in - we work our tails off to keep the place up and restore the house with what little $$ we have, and still if people come over or stop by, they disrespect our place because it looks 'rough' or they were raised in a family that did NOT teach them any core values on respect! I think they are all a product of a 'Disposable Society', where if you break/ruin/wreck something, you just go out and buy another...sad.

I AGREE! I'm glad my parents taught (made) me to learn the value of respect and how to achieve it... too bad everyone doesn't do that.
What a world we live in.

Yea I have neighbors that say, "wow that's not a good family car, your not very responsible."
I just reply "funny, my Crossfire and PT Cruiser cost me less than your REALLY big ford SUV, who is the irresponsible one?"
I love people... lol.
In a similar vein, besides modest daily drivers for my daughter, my wife and myself, we have seven other vehicles ranging in vintage from 1971 thru 2004. Most of them are cars that we had used as daily drivers for over 100K miles (often a lot over) and, because they were not worth much as trade-ins, if we liked them we kept them when we bought newer cars.

While a lot of folks in our small town think we are quite extravagant, the fact is that, over the years, we've put a lot less into our cars than most of our detractors who turn over several (often leased) expensive vehicles every two years or so.

Sometimes we point this out to them, other times we don't bother.

- Bill

Incredible, people are treating me like crap now and its freakin weird.

I went to the hardware store to get a couple of screws that started to rust under the hood. So i go in and ask for a hand getting them out to replace them.

No problem so far... so this guy probably in his late 20s comes out and as soon as he sees the car he says "you know your going to have to pay for the tool..." I said "that's fine..."

Then he starts pressuring me to buy this higher priced tool, I said forget it. I bought the screws and that was it. As*holes.

I will have had my car for two years this July 9th, and I don't have a single dent or ding on it. I give this credit to me parking in the back of the parking lot, but what irritates me the most is when I park in the back and some jalopy parks right next to me. When there are hundreds of closer parking spaces available. I consider those to be A**Holes. That and little kids at church, I don't even drive mine to church because of them. I take the Firebird. Oh and the thing about having nice cars, I'm 22 and drive a 2005 Aero Blue Crossfire, a 1999 Red Convertible Firebird, a 1994 green Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a 1994 S10 truck, and although most of them are older they all look like brand new. Many people think I'm spoiled and I've had one guy tell me I don't deserve my nice car because I'm so young. That's life though some people have class and are glad you can afford nice things and then there are others who can't afford these things and hate it that you can.

Here's what you do to take care of the little sh** next door. Get yourself a pure blooded Georgia smell hound that likes to sleep at your feet. Then get yourself a rocking chair for your front porch. And, the coup de gras, a scatter gun across your lap. Ball goes on your property, point the scatter gun and scream "GET OFF MY LAWN!" Kid cuts across your front yard, point and scream. Kid tries sneaking onto your property cause now you're that crazy old man...you know the drill.

Take my advice, and those kids and lard butts will never cross you again.

Welcome to my world of Crossfire protection, and I'm only 33.
