Hey guys... I know the topic of suspension has been talked about alot here... but everybody seems to have different opinions... I am on the verge of purchasing the H&R cup kit for the xfire... some people say its too low... some say is just right... and others experienced the camber issue... well I would like some fresh opinions... and more important... some helpful advice.
I am 25 so looks and performance are important... but I don't want the tires to rub or have a crappie ride...PLEASE tell me what to do ??? this has been driving me crazy...!

 

Well if you look at Crucial Crossfire's car in the March Ride of the Month thread he's got the H&R Cup Kit with 20's on all 4 corners and he did say he had to roll the front fenders a little bit to not rub.

If you don't want a camber issue then don't drop the car. The rear can't be adjusted as easily as the front, but it can be done (crash bolt or something). You also won't be getting a smoother ride as well but it's the looks and performance that matter here. The Crossfire doesn't have the smoothest ride to begin with because of the wide/low tires.

I don't plan on putting 20's on my car but I also know I don't want the car completely slammed, so I'm going the Eibach route eventually which doesn't lower the car as much.

 

I plan to keep the stock size tires here... but I would like the lowering... i looked into the eibach kit but its only shocks that they sell... will that work just fine with the stock shocks??? If so that looks like the way to go !

 

It'll probably do fine for the time being but you should plan on upgrading but the only option is Koni's which are about $600. I'm sure some people have slapped on springs on the stock shocks.

 

I found the H&R cup kit for $679 on tirerack.com... seems like the whole package... but will the lowering be to dramatic??? What do you think? Or should I go eibach / koni way??

 

just talk to some one at H&R and they say that more likely I will have to correct the camber on their set up ...but they don't have anything themselves to this ...where would I get this "camber correction device" that will work with their cup kit...

 

Take it to a mechanic that does digital alignments ...they can fix the front since it's adjustable, the rear cannot. Typically you would use a "camber kit" but there aren't any out for out vehicle
