Default Checking Oil on Instrument Display

Anyone else have difficulty checking engine oil level via the instrument display? I've followed the manual instructions, and can get the miles until service display, no problem. However I get a blank screen when checking for oil level. I checked the old fashion way, and I really do have some stuff. Anybody else figure this out?

Thanks,
Ben

It's rather easy to do, if you follow the repair manual instruction perfectly, yet I've found it to be inaccurate by about 1 quart, it's best to use the dip stick.

Thanks Maxwell,
I'll try another time, perhaps I've repeatedly misread the instruction.
It's good to know I should be checking it the old fashioned way anyhow!

Best,
Ben

The secret is that you have to wait about 5 minutes after turning the car off before the little oil can display appears. It seems to take forever, but it does eventually come on. Be patient.
