ok guys, been in the 90s for a few days and i have been using the AC ... i smell a plastic with a hint of solder fume burning smell ... nothing is smoking YET but it sure smells like its not far away.

anyone had similar issue ?

I get a very distinct and strong chemical smell when the ac first comes on.
It lasts about 30? seconds. I can't figure that one out.
It's definitely chemical and not a mold-type smell.
Mine is one of those "new" 05's, if that has anything to do with it.
What these cars did for 2 years is quasi-twilight zone...
but I still dig it.

 

If the A/C air comes through the cabin filter, that may be your problem.
I have the opposite problem, when I don't run A/C, the car smells like pickles for a while!!!
