Default 900 mile road trip in the XF, drove like a dream!

We just went from J'ville up to Myrtle Beach for the weekend in the Xfire. I'm always nervous to take it on long trips with no spare tire but it did a great job. We averaged 31.2 MPG on the highway even with me cruising @ 100 a couple times. Trunk fits two people's stuff perfectly and why does it seem so much easier to find a parking space with the XF?

We've now had our XF for over a year, just rolled 30K miles and not a single complaint yet...cept i guess the $100 bucks I paid for an oil change before we left. It all balances out I guess since you do them 1/3 of the time as a normal car.

We had two people ask us if it was a Bentley, which seems to be a common question. We've been asked that at least a dozen times. The car gets looks everywhere it goes, handles great and surprisingly does well in heavy rains. I didn't have to slow down a ton on the highway in heavy downpours. I'm bound to get a ticket in it at some point. I'll be driving along, look down, and I'm doing 100. It gets there so easily and is so quiet you can hardly tell.

Sorry to bore with the thread, just thought I'd post a road trip thread.

Yup... these are wonderful touring cars. I made a 2,000 mile trip (each way) with my wife during last December (stayed for Christmas and New Year celebrations).

It was a wonderful trip with the car performing flawlessly. Comfort is always difficult when you drive distance. The key for us was to stop at least every two hours or so and stretch for a minimum of 15 minutes (get gas, food, walk around, etc.).

Cheers!

I agree, it's a great touring car. I was recently transferred from the Kansas City to Tucson, Arizona. I decided to drive the Crossfire instead of shipping it. Logged a little over 1,350 miles driving to Tucson. The car performed perfectly. It was a great trip in a GREAT car!
