Isn't chrysler owned by someone else now?
Maybe they have better marketing strategies or a plan of some sort. I know Chrysler didn't. And if more are made that's a good thing. More cars built = more cars sold = more people wanting to add things to their cars = finally having an aftermarket.
We might actually get some parts for this car after all.

There first POA should be to let there Internet Dept. know what will be sold. IMO, your logic is faulty b/c more cars built does not = more cars sold. Look at the current situation pointed out by northrup5. History says Chrysler can build a sports car (Prowler, Crossfire) that people talk about, admire, and love (owners). However, history also shows Chrysler does a poor job at introducing, marketing and pricing them. Chrysler should create a new sports car and hire a select group to manage marketing, production and pricing.
For all we know, the poor marketing and management of the Crossfire was due to Daimler. If it has any hopes of being an interesting carmaker, Chrysler needs a halo car and the Crossfire is it. (The 300C SRT-8 is cool but it has too many seats and too many doors).
As someone who loves Crossfires, I think the world is a better place with more of them. I'm not interested in resale value but I am interested in spare parts and ongoing corporate support. I hope Chrysler makes a 2008 Crossfire and a 2009 and a 2010. I'd like to see the Crossfire become Chrysler's Corvette - an aspirational car with a long and celebrated history. If Chrysler does this, I can promise them at least one steady customer for life.

And as you suggested the Corvette, it was a number of years before the Corvette became a success. It too was almost cancelled and it suffered from much more anemic performance from its initial Blue Flame Six than the Crossfires. Took many changes to its make up before it took off and became the icon it is today. Chances are that won't happen with the Crossfire as it began life with roots in 2 places and production in a third. I think they would sooner give up on changing a car whose production is out of their control and start with a clean slate (maybe the Demon). I'm all for another year of production though or at least as long as it takes for me to order a new one.
It maybe, that the new company looked at the books and the $160 million paid to shut down production bought a whole year worth of parts (paid for by Daimler), so the cost of production may be close to zero (just assembly) and it allows them to have a 2 seat sports car in lineup without major tooling - demon or firepower.
Just a guess but the new guys are pretty smart and they must believe it is a low risk, high reward option to restart production.

You all really know how to make a person feel good - just last night I purchased from the original owner a 2005 SRT roadster with auto and nav and 5,200 miles - primarily as an investment since my wife has a 2005 Limited roadster she got last summer and now you tell me production will continue this is a great car and from I have been reading the SRT will be even better when we start using it ten years down the road.

There won't be any more SRT6s produced (at least we are 99.9% sure -
The last SRT6 build date any of us have seen is from 2005.
Congrats on your SRT6, what color is it? Be sure and check the thread - SRT6 Serial Numbers.

They have a '6' in digit 10 of the VIN denoting the 2006 model year. However, all 2006 SRT6s we've seen have 2005 build dates.
If Rydiak reads this, maybe he can look at the sticker on his driver door to see what his build date is - as he has a pretty low build number (perhaps it was built in 2004, not sure).
Before anyone jumps on this 2006 SRT6 fiasco - as stated in other threads:
DCX maintains that the few 2006 SRT6s were not supposed to be released. They were 'test mules' that were accidentally sold at auction.
There is absolutely no difference with the few 2006s, other than the 10th VIN digit.

So, parts should still be available.

RPM - It would seem to me that a fair percentage of the Crossfires sold here were made the year before the model year that they are. The 10th digit of the vin as you said is the model year of the car, that's always the case.
My '05 Ltd has a 5 in that position but was built a year earlier as per the build sticker on the door jam. Most of the Crossfires I've looked at are like this.
My point here is be careful what you are getting, always check the vin and the build date. I work in the insurance business and I see a fair amount of people that buy what they thought were the new model year only to get last year's model. BE CAREFUL.

Many, many thanks for the comments, info and advice. I grew up hunting and fishing with my Dad and my only real knowledge of cars is where the gas goes and how to drive them. For what its worth to others I paid $30K even this Monday for the SRT roadster with 5,200 mile and nav vin# 1C3AN75N25X054356 Sapphire Silver Blue. I drove to Va last Saturday from Atlanta to look at the same car less nav and less 5,186 miles. That's right had only 14 miles and untitled, was asking $34,543. BuyNow on Ebay and got down to $31,714 plus tax and etc. Probably $34K drive out. Blue outside and Grey inside vin#1C3AN75N15x058138. Offered the same $30K drive out but no luck so much for 15 minute talk and 800 mile round trip. So for a $4,000 savings I got a much better looking car with nav and 5,200 more miles. If you read this far with me, thank you as I still need some more help and advice my wife's '05 Crossfire Roadster Limited now has 23,000 miles and in need of new rubber. No snow, little rain, 90 mph max in spurts. Suggestions appreciated.
