so I'm been tired a lot more than normal, but I'm still excited about working hand in hand with Lantana on making our dreams come true.
I have been doing the research and am leaning towards the V8. I am taking engine measurements off a friends E500. It appears this could be an easy swap. I also studied photos of the Startech V8 and nothing along the sides or rear of the engine appears to have been moved or altered. It does appear to to have a fan/shroud from a C43. The only other thing that might be needed is exhaust manifolds and engine mounts from the C43, but not sure about this yet.
I still think the 3.2 CDI would be a great choice. 220 hp and 400 Ft pd of torque stock. Bolt that in with the 7 speed auto and it should be a tire shredding machine.

Unless I come up against a major problem that I can't resolve, I am going with one of the Mercedes 24 valve V8's. In order of preference they are 55 AMG, 500, C43. 430.
320 215 HP 229 foot Lbs Torque (Stock)
430 275 HP 295 " "
C43 302 HP 302 " "
500 302 HP 339 " "
C55 342 HP 376 " "
An ECU re-flash will add 20-25 HP to any of these engines (provided I can get 93 octane). Cams can add another 25 HP.
The weight difference from the V6 is 130 lbs.

Done some research... good E430 80K >= £8000 ($1,600 USD). I could run it for a while then use it... however would not want to be the first transplant (me chicken ****).
