the SHO motors could be bolted up to Aerostar transmissions...

Hey, I hope you are going to be OK.

I have been doing the research and am leaning towards the V8. I am taking engine measurements off a friends E500. It appears this could be an easy swap. I also studied photos of the Startech V8 and nothing along the sides or rear of the engine appears to have been moved or altered. It does appear to to have a fan/shroud from a C43. The only other thing that might be needed is exhaust manifolds and engine mounts from the C43, but not sure about this yet.

I still think the 3.2 CDI would be a great choice. 220 hp and 400 Ft pd of torque stock. Bolt that in with the 7 speed auto and it should be a tire shredding machine.

I was thinking the same thing. Back when the imports were really taking off I was working at a chassis fabrication shop where they took a Honda Prelude rotated the motor 90º and put a reverse rotation Lenco transmission in it. The car was a full tube chassis with some damn huge slicks outback with a Ford nine inch. It can be done although I would like to see if some other transmission could be used because those Lencos are huge, expensive and not very street friendly.

I haven't driven one but after seeing what this engine can do with some simple bolt on stuff I'm going to have to disagree with you. Here is a good example of what can be done. This little engine cranks out 700 hp!

Unless I come up against a major problem that I can't resolve, I am going with one of the Mercedes 24 valve V8's. In order of preference they are 55 AMG, 500, C43. 430.

320 215 HP 229 foot Lbs Torque (Stock)

430 275 HP 295 " "
C43 302 HP 302 " "
500 302 HP 339 " "
C55 342 HP 376 " "

An ECU re-flash will add 20-25 HP to any of these engines (provided I can get 93 octane). Cams can add another 25 HP.

The weight difference from the V6 is 130 lbs.

I'm praying to Christ I will be ok and live a long and healthy life. I got a wife and two kids and I want to be able to live long enough to help raise my grand children.

So when we going to get together and work some Crossfire Magic...

I'll try and give you a call tonight...

Done some research... good E430 80K >= £8000 ($1,600 USD). I could run it for a while then use it... however would not want to be the first transplant (me chicken ****).

Me not chicken ****, Me just need to steal motor (a very good bargain), this way if anything goes wrong I can still bail and not lose any money. $1,600 US for a E430 engine would be right in the ball park but 8,000 GBP is more like $16,000 USD, you meant 800 GBP's right?
