New Crossfire Owner
Good Morning,
I have just bought into the wonderful Crossfire family. My purchase is an '04 13k miles on it. I picked it up for $16k. I thought that was a great deal. The car is awesome. I have owned quite a few cars and nothing has been as fun to drive as the crossfire. The car does have some draw backs, but over all it has been great so far.
The Drawbacks:
Bad rear vision - I knew this right from the start and it's not so bad.
The Seats - The seats are ok but the bottom seat pad feels like your sitting on concrete.
The shift **** is cheeesty.
The stereo is bass heavy.
The automatic stuff is not complete - Interval wipers, auto lights ect.
The Good Points:
The car looks awesome .
It corners like there is glue on the pavement.
The engine is punchy and quick.
Price vs Value is awesome.
I am sure there are fixes for deficiencies in the car on this forum. I look forward to learning more about my new baby as time goes on. Thanks for having such a great forum on such a wonderful car.

Thanks,
It is the greenish silver w/ manual 6 speed. I was looking for an automatic, but I could not pass up the deal on the manual. I traded in my trusty 1996 miata. I had that car since 1998. The miata has been great all these years, but it was time for something new. I know this is a long shot, but do they make rosewood kits for these cars or any wood kits for that matter? I noticed there is not much for aftermarket. I plan on doing most of the maintenance myself. I have always done my own. That way I know its right. Its nice meeting new people and again thanks for the forum.

There are some interior finish kits out there. Forum member SRT SIX does some carbon fiber, etc. coatings that look great also.
Good luck w/the new ride.
congrats on the new crossfire, when do we get to see some pics?
i quickly got over the cons of this car. just pull up at a stoplight and catch people staring.. you will forget all about those uncomfortable seats.
most of the aftermarket on this car is from companies in germany, from what i've seen, as you browse around the forum you will find some.

Thanks to everyone. This seems like a really good forum. I have been a member of the VTX forum for years another good forum. Life is better if you can share your experience with others. I told my wife today that my new car made me giddy. I have not felt giddy about a car in years. Tomorrow will be my first big drive. We are going to the Santa Rosa about 90 miles from here. I can't wait. I bought the car on Tuesday with 13,400 and I just turned 13,700 just from around town. Wow I am burning gas.
P.S. has anyone went for the turn signal and accidentally hit the cruise? That is not good. The car took off at a stop sign. Weird.

It gives the car a boost of power and I got one. I think you will like it.
Rubhed,
Welcome and Congratulations - you will enjoy the XF experience.
In regards to the bassy stereo if you do a search you will find a fairly easy $10 modification to correct that.
Enjoy.

I've had mine 2.5 years now, and I still confuse the turn signal with the cruise lever every so often.
As for throttle response, you may just need to "reset" the cars throttle computer. It learns how you drive, and adjusts the throttle response time accordingly.
Welcome to the Forum, I'm sure you will enjoy your Crossfire.
