Gas Mileage, What do you Get?
This question really amazes me. I didn't by the car to get good gas mileage I bought it to drive it. If I was concerned about gas mileage I would have bought a Prius. Gas Mileage? Really?

I average 21 MPG with a pretty even mix of stop and go city rush hour driving and 65-75 MPH highway driving. One thing I notice is the AC seems to have no effect on mileage.
Would good or bad mileage affect my satisfaction with the car? You bet, I love this car buy I also don't like being dependent on other nations for fuel. Of course one has to answer how bad does the mileage have to be, to be considered bad.

I have very good luck with the gas mileage, in town a solid 25, highway is always between 27 - 32 depending on the quality of gas. I have found that if I put oct booster in the tank the mileage goes up. best I've gotten is nearly 32 running 92 oct with booster added.
I get 400 miles to a full tank. I drive very aggressive and with the a/c on sometimes and off other times. I also use the autostick like crazy holding down to the lowest possible gear as I am sporting my way through town. I also get stuck in horrible traffic 30% of the time. I drive 60 ish - 70 miles one way everyday to work and back...
I commute 30 miles one way to work each day. City driving, averaging about 23 miles per gallon. Must be nice not being concerned about gas mileage @ 2.99 a gallon ! Geez !
GassGhost, this is a 215 hp two-seat cruiser not a 523 hp Lambo Superleggera. I think discussion of gas mileage is reasonable because for the amount of power (or lack thereof) and the small size of the car, it should be getting decent gas mileage. Now give me another 150 horsepower and I wouldn't care about the mpg.
On my last trip in early September I clocked 994 miles and used 28.1 Imperial gallons which works out to 35.4 mpg. Please note that Imperial gallons X 1.20094 equals U.S. gallons or 33.7 U.S. gallons/29.5 mpg. On this trip I drove from the foothills of Alberta to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia (and back) through the Canadian Rockies without my wife which allowed me drive hard without the sharp elbow. Alot of the road is 2 lane with passing lanes about every 10 - 15 miles. Top was down about half the time.

22 average in my SRT. About 40% City, 60% Highway. I don't drive that aggressively. I get down it regularly, but I'm not the first off the light every time. On the highway, I've seen as high as 26.5.

Just got back from a road trip from Kentucky to Ga/SC border. Got about 28 mpg but I drove it like a sports car. I wasn't worried about the gas mileage, just how great it felt to power through all of the turns through the mountains.
Okay, I must be the odd owner here. I live in Colorado and average around 25. The highest I had seen was 34 when I bought it and drove it home on mostly interstates. I just came back from being in Phoenix, AZ. and I averaged 36 while I was down there. I was getting around 300 miles for a half tank of gas. I was just blown away, and of course, she was faster, louder and more fun to drive down there, otherwise I might have pulled better gas mileage, and mind you this was with my a/c on, wife in the car, and it loaded with gear. I have put in K&N filters, and a performance muffler. I have checked my mileage more than a few times to make sure my math is correct but still blows me away to hear that people get less than 20 mpg, unless your at the race track. One side note, I only have 91 octane available, wish I had higher.

And you wonder why people question your ___________ (fill in the blank).
Oh, by the way, I've gotten 32+ on my '04 limited coupe and a surprising and happy 23+ on the SRT6 (can't seem to keep from kicking it every couple of miles or so).
Big smiles...

I've only had my car for a week, so my ideas are few. I did put on 200 miles city/interstate and the tank shows just above 1/2 empty. My old Porsche 911 I just drove, only when I got it did I measure the mileage and it was about 30 mpg, good for that car. But this car is not some econobox, so I wont be sad if I dont get "Gore" mileage. I'll post when I fill the tank.
