Unhappy Check Engine Light

Mine came on the other night. The bad part is, I am 5' tall sit low in the car, and I am not sure how long it has been one. The cruise control arm is right in the way of even seeing the thing lit!

I stopped and put fuel in the car, and it went off. Now I find it's on again. I have put 100 miles on the tank of gas.

I check the oil, it's not to the top of the dip stick, but it's OK. Is it time to call the dealer, or is there something else I can check out first?

Thanks for any help!

the light may take a few ignition cycles to reset itself (a couple days).

if that doesn't do it ... check to see if you air filters are dirty...

usually one or the other ... trips the light.

cheers.

Hi Andrew,

My gas cap only has one hard click. But I just took it off several time, started the car a couple of times and it went out. I will have hubby check the filter, hummm, not sure which ones when he gets back in town and the end of the week...

Thanks.
