FSS Issue Help Requested
I changed the oil today. It was easy and gave me a chance to clean and detail the underbody. Well, after the oil change, I tried to reset the FSS. I followed the procedure perfectly; however, I couldn't get it to display 7,000 miles. After the tone, it showed the double wrench icon and 10,000 miles. Not sure what the deal is.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You did better than get it to display 7,000 miles till the next oil change...
You got it to display 10,000 until the next oil change...don't complain!
Depending on your driving style, weather, average trips, phases of the moon, who's in office, etc. your oil changes can be anywhere from 7,000 to 10,000 miles! That's why they call it the "Flexible" service!

7,000 miles = 11,265 km
Could it be set up to register km instead of miles?

The car is smarter than you give it credit for me thinks... I can't disagree with you though. I'm letting my mine ride for now. But I should probably change it more often they way I beat on it...
I hope I'm staying on topic ......but I can't get the oil level readout on the odometer like it should. All I get is the FSS miles to go before the next oil change. Isn't the oil level supposed to show up with the key on and pushing the left button twice?

I think 10000 is the normal interval on UK spec cars, mine actually went higher by 500 miles on the first service, but my jouneys are mostly 15 miles + in neither extreme hot or cold (rain doesn't alter the interval or I would have been in the garage most of the summer!)
No harm in going in a bit earlier no matter what the computer thinks.
