crank position sensor A
ok folks apparently from what i have read one weak point on these cars is the crank position sensor, my question is would this be covered under the warranty? i have 11,500 miles on my '06 and i bought the 100k service plan i do believe my car came with the 7 70 plan from the factory but didn't all come with the 3yr 36k mile bumper to bumper that should cover this? also how much $hit do you think i'm going to get over all the mods??? and do you think they will try to blame it on them? oh and wtf is the bas esp light about... i can't find my book and this is the first time i've triggered that light lol.
You can get a replacement CPS online for about $80 or $160 from a MB dealership. It's easier to install than the spark plugs, just a tight space. And the BAS ESP light.... turn your steering wheel all the way in both directions and it should turn off.

Synchronizing ESP
If the power supply was interrupted (battery disconnected
or discharged), the BAS/ESP malfunction indicator
light may be illuminated with the engine running. To
re-synchronize the ESP, and cancel the malfunction indicator
light, the steering angle sensor will need to be
recalibrated.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position.
2. Rotate the steering wheel to the center position.
3. Rotate the steering wheel completely to the left, and
then rotate the steering wheel completely to the right.
4. Bring the steering wheel back to the center position.
5. The BAS/ESP malfunction indicator light will go out.
If the BAS/ESP malfunction indicator light is still illuminated,
the vehicle should be serviced at an authorized
