Default Electrical Question

I'm in a lot of stop and go traffic in the morning (and evening) too on the freeway. My drive is quite long (35 miles one way) and during the first 10-12 miles I'm moving at a steady pace. However, I've noticed with the shorter days, that when I use the headlights they seem fine for a while, then during the stop and go portion (which is about another 12 miles) my headlights will dim for a brief moment just once then go back to normal.

Is the electrical system resetting somehow? Is this normal?

I had to replace the battery recently due to a cracked casing and thought this would go away if the battery was somehow being the culprit. But no change. Otherwise the car runs fine.

Thanks! I didn't look under that search heading.

It seems this is a common occurrance and no one seems to know why.

The car has a new battery and I'm hoping that takes care of the problem.

Just curious what dealership did you take it to? I'm a few miles away and have been going to Moore Chrysler. It started out very rough with them, but they have made everything right and provided excellent service the last time. I deal with Luke Roe, he's the service manager there and been very fair. You can also check the thread that refers to rentals. Tod can check if you car has rental service on it. So you can leave it if you have to. In all my dealings I have let them diagnose my car's issues and if they don't have the part, I have gone back and picked up my car while it's being ordered. It's very crowded like any dealership and didn't want my car to get a ding from sitting in the wrong place. If your out of warranty then search the thread that some members have done an electrical upgrade to the charging system to cure their problems. Good luck as with any dealership if you can duplicate your problem in front of them, it makes all the difference.
