Tons of oil leaking from engine! Help!!
Is there a common problem with these engines leaking oil? We went to back the car out of the garage and there was about 0.25-0.50qt of oil on the floor! When we got it out of the garage, there was a couple fresh spots on the driveway. It looks like it's coming from the passenger side of the transmission. There's a little hose line that runs to the side of the trans, that looks like it has a little rubber boot on it... Just in front of the firewall. And the boot and loom on that line is all wet with what looks like the same oil.
If its reddish its the transmission TSB 21-002-05 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID WEEPAGE 2005-01-14. I take its an automatic transmission.
You know what, I thougth it was reddish... But the manual said that "there is no need to ever check the ATF so there is no dipstick". I figured I was safe... LOL!!! I will call the dealership and give them the tsb number...
I thougth ATF was way more red than what was on the floor... Apparently not! It was a brownish redish color...
Thanks!!!

Same thing happened to mine at ~7500 miles in February 06. Dealer repaired in a couple of hours. They also replaced the cooling fan module (per recall). Hasn't been in the shop since. A fairly common problem and a simple repair. Replaced an O-Ring on the transmission. I was impressed with the service.
I also had this problem, and thought it was the dreaded transmission leak. Turned out to be the oil pressure sending unit was leaking. Check your engine oil level, and see if it is down. Also look on the inside, with the hood open, and see if there is oil seepage on the belly pan, in the rear on the passenger side, a good indicator it is the oil pressure sending unit.
Covered under warranty. It requires the oil pan be dropped. Chrysler covered the oil, but would not pay for the filter (go figure!) when I asked for a change, since they had to drain the oil for the repair. Dealer did a great job.
Hope this is helpful.

Yup, sounds like the same problem. But it had nothing to do with the TSB posted before. Totally different area. But same problem.... some kind of gasket on the electrical wiring harness going into the tranny. $100 deductible on my extended warranty...

Just had mine done... wasn't exactly sure what "nag connector" was at first either
Didn't drive it for a couple of weeks and it left a nice puddle on my new driveway pavers... but Griot's Oil and Grease Cleaner took care of it
