oil filter lube rings
When the dealer changes your oil do they take these lube rings off when they take the filter off? I gave them a filter but the rings were still in the box. Was not sure if the filter just slides off without the rings popping off. If they did not put the rings on, is it gonna work properly?

They most likely just left the old ones on which "shouldn't" cause any true issues if it's a one time deal. There would be no external leaks; unless the big o-ring failed, if there was/is a problem with the little o-rings but decreased oil pressure may be a result if they don't seal properly.
Just take out the assembly and change the rings your self or better yet, take it back to the dealer and ask them to explain why they didn't follow the standard procedure.

If it gets low enough to be damaging then either a light will come on or the engine will shutdown if it has a low pressure switch like most modern cars. I haven't familiarized myself completely with these cars yet as I am new to this scene.

Talk to the Service Manager, not clerk.
Possibilty of leakage will happen when you dont expect it, filter manufacturer would not include if not required.
