Default Dealerships To Avoid

Due to the many disgusting reports of poor treatment and poor support from many Chrysler dealerships, I created this forum as a place to list dealerships in your area to avoid at all costs. Maybe an admin. could use this to create a sticky link on the home page for all to read and contribute to. Maybe even create sub threads by region.

Here's mine:

Manchester, NH: Bonneville and Son Chrysler (5 Star Dealer)
Not terrible customer service, but overall service was poor. Car was in the shop for 2 months for a faulty seatbelt alarm. The problem was never repaired, they gave up, but my interior was ruined. After speaking to the service manager, the dealership renewed the interior.

I like the idea of this thread and hope it will be sticky.
I also think we should start one for Good dealers.

Thumbs up Re: Dealerships To Avoid

I like the idea of this thread also. I have not had to take mine in yet to a dealer, but will have to because of the heated seat problem in both of mine. I will post here also when I get service done. Again good thread!

I like the idea of this thread also, and I like the idea of a thread for recommended dealers.
Just a suggestion for anyone adding to this thread, you might want to do like cgocifer did and put the dealer name, location (city and state) and a brief discription of why you would not recommend this dealer.
I don't think a general MFing of the dealer is going to help anyone who wants to use this thread in the future to help them decide which dealers are worthwhile.
Just a suggestion of course.

I put mine in the shop today for the two bottom seat heaters. Luckily (I hope) the dealer sent it out to an upholstery shop. Will see when I get it back tomorrow. Then I can post either about a good dealer or a bad dealer.

Manassas Chrysler Northern VA

Rating: 1/10

Reason: Tried to have them replace the differential under warranty and they made up excuses that gear whine my car was experiencing was "regular engine noise". It was essentially the biggest load of **** I have ever heard. They refused to do the repair. I was recommended to them by a forum member but they are not worth you're time.

Koons Chevy/Chrysler of Tysons Northern VA

Rating: 8/10

Reason: Very large operation and they have a Crossfire specialist who knows his stuff. He immediately agreed to fix the differential on my car, they also threw in touch up paint free of charge. I felt comfortable taking my car there as it was a large establishment and the biggest servicer of Corvettes in the region (so they work with high performance cars often enough). My only qualm was that they somehow ordered an engine instead of a differential so had to wait a week before taking my car back in.

That is good to know because I most likely will be getting orders to Virginia in about 2 months.

Sherman Dodge in Skokie (Chicagoland)

Service 1/10
Terrible experience there and even though I work less than a block away, I will never take my car there again. They are incompetent and rude.

Century Dodge
13500 TELEGRAPH ROAD
TAYLOR, MI 48180-4691
http://www.fivestardealers.com/centu...th=&bid=&rid=u

Absolutely terrible experience, twice with them. First time was involving a front end collision with my Stealth. Their body and paintwork is awful. I had to show them how to install my turn signal lights up front. They have poor painting skills and will actually paint over large stone chips without filling them in. The second experience was from their used car lot. The manager was EXTREMELY rude to me when I was looking at a Xfire two weeks ago. He would not budge one cent off his price and he said he would rather sell the car at an auction than sell it to me!

I do not consider them a five star dealer at all.
STAY AWAY FROM CENTURY DODGE IN TAYLOR!

I love this thread...
We should send a link to this thread to the highest level of the Chrysler Organization.
Let them see how many of their dealers suck !!! along with the remarks to explain the issues.

Good idea!

I just sent an email to everyone at work (500 employees) stating my problems with the dealership in Skokie and at least three people who were planning on going there, no longer are! Now THAT made my day!

That's not a bad idea, but, we should have a longer list of dealers if you want Chrysler to notice. Also everything should be kept very professional so it doesn't just sound like a bunch of people bitching.

I will add my experience
Dave Dennis Chrysler
Dayton, Ohio
http://davedennis.fivestardealers.com/

Level of Service
1/10
-Spent 2 weeks arguing with them that my car was covered under 3 mon/ 3,000 warranty. (wasn't in the computer, so they refused to look at my paper work, a supposedly certified auto from their dealership bought 3 weeks earlier) Finally got that settled.
-Requested they check alignment, seemed to be pulling. They switched front tires, said it was fixed. I had the alignment checked else where, it was out off alignment, I had it fixed. Service department then lied about what they had done.
-Still waiting for seat heating element to arrive after almost 7 weeks.
- CD player skips going over bumps, but there are not any bumps in the shop appearently, so it is normal operation according to them.

Don't even get me started on the salesman !
Fortunately I have kept detailed records about the whole experience

Dar Cars Chrysler, Marlow Heights, MD
Service Support 9/10
I have to had it to these guys. Took my xfire in for seat heaters. They ordered the parts and called me when they arrived. I dropped off the car and they took it to an upholstery shop to do the work. A+ for initiative. Two days later I get the car back and the passenger seat is fixed but not the drivers. I call to tell them, they order the parts again and 3 weeks later call me to say they arrived. Drop off car. Next day they called and said they had sent it to the upholstery shop again but the seat heater still wasn't working. The shop manager dove into the problem, found another part that was needed, ordered the part and personally fixed the car.

Unfortunately they don't have a certified xfire mechanic but I give them credit for effort.
