2) Improves throttle response...no HP gain.

3) Its a DIY if you are good with DIY projects, there is an install thread...do a search.

4) Many think it is...its more of a seat of the pants response.

LOL...nice job!

Almost as good as HDDP taking screen shots of where the search button is and detailed notes on it's usage!

directing anyone to search the sprint booster thread (at least the orignal one) is cruel and unusual punishment.
i can sum it up; it is worth it. it gives you more of a go-kart type response when givin' it the gas. when lightly tapping the gas, you are already at full throttle. it is kinda fun.

Some people actually like to have all the information on a product before they decide to buy it.

The sprint booster costs about $300 - depending where you get it. In my opinion, that's a big chunk of change for a tiny piece of electronics that just remaps the throttle. But I bought one anyway because everyone says it eliminates the throttle lag (all Crossfires) and the shift lag on automatic transmission Crossfires.

I haven't installed mine yet, as I just brought it back from winter hibernation, and I wanted to drive my car for a while and get used to it again before I install the sprint booster. That way I will appreciate the difference.

From what others have said, and from the photo install guide somewhere here in the forum, the installation of the print booster is a 15 minute job. You pop the gas pedal out of the way, disconnect the wiring harness, and connect the sprint booster inbetween the pedal electronics and the ecu. Find the photo install guide here in the forum it will explain it much better.

I put together this post because when you do a search it brings up many threads on this subject.
Thanks to all who have posted this information on various other threads.

This post summarizes the info needed for newer members now buying and installing Sprint Boosters.

    Cost $ 300 Available HERE

Here are step by step PHOTOS for option 1 thanks to PAULW in this link:

    Option 1
You need to remove the throttle pedal following step below:
    1. Remove the lower nut cap.
    2. Remove the 10mm nut.
    3. Remove the washer, a magnet helps.
    4. Remove the pedal, lift the bottom pulling out and pull it out of the upper bracket.
    5. Unplug the tps cable from the sensor.
    6. Plug the tps cable into the
    Sprint Booster.
    7. Plug the
Sprint Booster cable into the tps sensor.
    8. Reinstall the pedal assembly.
    9. Go for a test drive, you WILL SMILE !!!

    Option 2 (No photos)
This is another method of installation :
Remove the kick panel on the console
This is the panel that is to the right of your foot as you sit in the car
All you need is a Phillips screw driver! First remove the screw on the drivers side lower console where the vent is, 1/4 turn; this is a locking screw. Remove the second Phillips holding the lower drivers side console panel. You'll have to do a little removal manipulation of the panel, but it bends quite easily; its plastic! You may have to depress the gas pedal for clearance and temporary removal. Note: Always take note of how things fit a feel prior to panel removal, its just a good code to follow. Look at the top of the gas pedal and there is the plug. Squeeze the sides to release the locking mechanism on the plug. Unplug and insert the SB. Replug the plugs with the SB in line. Replace console side and screw and then the vent and screw and now you are done!

    ABOUT THE SPRINT BOOSTER
Sprint Booster Power Converters - What do they do ??

Do you want responsive acceleration, quicker gear changes, and overtake with ease?
We have the answer....Sprint Booster Power Converter...
Sprint Booster is a device that improves acceleration by continuously measuring and converting the digital signal providing the ECM (Electronic Control Module) with a new and altered signal.

    Benefits:
    · At low revs, the engine responds at approximately half the time in comparison to before.
    · The delay time whilst accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear and the engine in the mid-range, is almost zero.
    · Big differences in the higher rev range.
    · Improved response for downshifts and safer overtaking.

Almost all new cars come with fly by wire technology; hence do not have a traditional accelerator cable.
This new type of technology has a big draw back; it has a delayed reaction time and hence needlessly delays acceleration and engine performance.
The really great thing about this product is its simplicity; it does not touch the engine at all or the engine management system. What it does do is speed the signal up from the accelerator pedal to the engine - hence greatly improving acceleration and responsiveness!
Sprint Booster is a small and simple unit, which is very easy to install! - It is simply plugged into the back of the accelerator pedal connection and it is only possible to fit the unit one way!

“The Sprint Booster will be the “smartest” gadget you will fit to your car”.

This...from a person who couldn't help himself to the myriad posts that would have answered all of his questions. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to answer with the obvious.

More than happy to be able to wrap my "pygmy mind" around the proper usage of all the technical wonders of the "search" button!
