Default Headliner Replacement

I haven't seen any feedback on headliner replacement. I know a lot of us coupe owners have problems with the upper front windshield corners coming loose. Any comments/problems on dealer or private shop replacement?

A couple of months ago, my headliner suddenly dropped completely on the passenger side and within a week had also seperated along the leading edge all along the windshield line.

Still under warranty, the headliner was replaced free of charge.

I started a thread about it and no one commented with any headliner issues of their own. It seemed I was alone on this.

If you go by the number of replies we must be the only two with a headliner problems. FYI.... The repacement cost for the headliner alone is in the $700 range without labor. Coupe owners need to check the upper windshield corners by the sun visor for drooping fabric.

The headliner of my '04 coupe was replaced just before my "bumper to bumper" coverage expired. The thin outer layer of fabric had become loose from the molded form in a small area. It was visible with the rear hatch open. The fabric sagged enough so you could see about 1/4" of the material beneath along the upper rear edge. It didn't look like that big of a deal and probably could have been made to look decent with some double sided tape. I was surprised when they opted to replace the whole unit, without blinking. I would have accepted a repair on the original. I know now that would have been a mistake. From the reports in this thread I probably would have started to see other areas of sag. Be sure to look at the rear with the hatch open.
