It’s not real
I found 3D model of a Crossfire on the web the other day, and since then I’ve been fiddling with it so that I can do more than apply solid flat colours to it. Here’s my first attempt. I started with a bright orange so I knew what was right and what was left to do. It kind of evolved into the foolishness that you see before you.
I did a render and then passed a Photoshop filter over it to make it look less like an "out of the can" image. I’ll do a more expensive (ie time and processor intensive) render when my main machine is free, and I’ve possibly added some scenery.
One reason for this exercise is for me to visualise ideas for a respray - it’s cheaper to muck about with a digital image than with the real thing!
When time permits, I’ll post some of my working renders to a gallery so you can see how it’s progressed.

Thanks in advance if you do and if you hold out, I'm gonna pout like a little girl.

Hi,
the 3D model of the car wasn’t free, so there are restrictions on what I do with it. I can’t send it on *****-nilly. Sorry, all. The render file I have posted is the best I’ve come up with so far.
There are still small niggles with the model which I am fixing (ie it’s now right hand drive). The doors and bonnet open, but the hinges are in the wrong place (that is the rotation point of the parts in the model). It was sold as a 3DS model, but as I don’t have 3D Studio, I had to import it into what I sue and there are certain parts of the conversion which need fixing. Getting the textures to map properly are the major points for me - I think I have that part just about right now.
Yes - there are Dukes of Hazzard fans in the UK. The show gets a screening every so often on one of the cable channels, and there are people who really do paint their cars in the General Lee scheme.

Hi all
As HairyDalek is unable to share, I've located a free replacement. Don't know how it stacks up - but it'll give me something to play with...
Check out:

Cheers!
HairyDalek - are you some kind of Davros/Bill Oddie offspring??

I posted up a link to the free model at Sugar 3D but it was a couple of years ago and I can't seem to find it now. But I've just checked their site and they still have it as the sample! The picture shows a Roadster but the model is a Coupe. Its not 100% accurate but close enough as a starting point and will import into most 3D modeling packages.
Here's the link - just click the Roadster top left to go to the download

Nice work HD! I'll be expecting you to arrive at the next meet sideways in a cloud of dust with the air horns blazing and a cop car on your tail
Looking forward to your paint scheme ideas

LOL-
You should practice jumping into the car through the window too. Might be hard in the Crossfire.
