My friend has a 350z it goes like a bat out of hell, I think if Chrysler built the crossfire N/A model with the same performance as the 350z and obviously have there monster SRT-6 it would have been perfect. The Crossfire looks like such a mean and aggressive car anyone would think it goes like crazy and it's dissapointing we have to mod them to get what we should have when buying them from Chrysler. just my thoughts anyway.

Its a great GT car though you gotta admit, I rather have this then any of the "more powerful" competitors for a touring car. If you wanna go fast get the SRT, simple as that.

You're absoutly right, I wouldn't take anything over the crossfire (e.g. 350z, Audi TT). My only regret is I didn't get the SRT-6. My dad has one and I thought the N/A cant be that much slower? Well it turns out there is a HUGE difference in power. In Australia the difference between a SRT and a N/A crossfire is about $25,000 + much more then it is for you guys in the states, I paid $38,000 AUD for my crossfire and the SRT is about $60,000 + so I guess for the money I saved it's pretty good

Don't blame Chrysler for this one, blame Mercedes.

I think the point of the Crossfires was to use existing Mercedes engines.

I just came from a Chrysler dealership, tried to get my front tires turned inside out ...cause they are wearing much faster on the outer treads.....wanted to wait to get an alignment when I have to replace the tires....they got it up on the rack....spent about an hour ...just to figure out they didn't even have the ability to break down a 40 series tire!

Anyway, there was a Challenger R/T on the showroom floor....dear GOD...what were they thinking....that thing must weigh a ton more than the Crossfire!!!! HUGE!!! It had like monster 20s on it.....

I think if they are going to bail out the auto industry.....they shouldn't give the money to the manufacturers, the gov should tell the American people that if they buy an American Car....we all get a $10K rebate from the gov.....that would stimulate the auto industry!!!

$50,000,000,000 / $10,000 =5,000,000 cars !!!

I never meant they should not use the Mercedes engine, it's a great engine I just thought Chrysler should have tweaked it alittle maybe given it 15 or 20kws more would have been just nice. Regardless it's an amazing car love it

That being said, I would buy one if the price was right, as long as it's the Redline.. that's got some good power....
We had our neighbor eyeballin' our car for months before he came over and told us how much he liked it. Then he went and bought a light blue Sky. Ugly up close and ugly from far away. Still no competition in the neighborhood!

rivals, was the topic...there are no rivals now kit...our cars aren't even built anymore...SRT in general took basic cars and tried to turn them into something special performance wise to attract those who want to spend a little more to go a little faster...there are companies out there that will do the same thing for a lot of money to about any car...every car company is always trying to upstage the other...that's what makes us "car crazy guys" tick...I only wanted an SRT...in a Crossfire...not a Challenger, Charger, 300, but did have a Jeep Grand Cherokee for a week...loved that thing, it would beat most cars out there in 1/4....so, what are rivals...sometimes its the driver...not all people can handle HP>...just want to own it...

Sure performance might not be matched but I tell you what the SRT-6 is a force to be reckoned with not much will keep up with it and thats without mods

As mexico63 said the Berea 3200 is pretty close to the Xfire but I think it's a fair bit more $$$ wise and it's an Alfa I dont really see an Alfa as a sporty type car it's like having a Volvo or Saab lol.
Alfa Romeo has a racing heritage that rivals anyone. As a former Alfa owner I'm highly offended, well not really, but I'm workin' on it!

I believe that you do not know uses Alfa Romeo and his long racing career.
I have a Crossfire and I am happy to drive a Chrysler
could perhaps be interesting to know and drive a Alfa 147 v6 Gta 250 hp or a Brera 3200 v6 260 hp. I have tried both and they are impressive machines

ciao and sorry for my english

Unfortunately, unless you spend a ton of money, that seems to be the German way of doing things. Asian cars offer better performance for the money, but their designs and daily drivability can suffer in some cases. It's all about where you spend your money as a manufacturer. I think German cars offer the best balance of everything a car enthusiast looks for in a car. This is the same with the crossfire. Though, I do agree, it could use a bit more pep, but it's still not bad even stock.

As far as a competitor, the solstice will become an even bigger competitor when the hardtop/targa version is released. I really, really liked this version, but I fear that in GXP guise it will be too pricey. Nothing can really touch a crossfire when money is factored in. German design and engineering at domestic firesale prices. What's not to love?

I think you could just about fit a miata inside the silhouette of the Crossfire

My sister has one of those things. Just lock yourself in a small closet, you'll get the same effect and save a lot of money.

i used to have miata that i'd turbo'd. it was a quick little thing. performance wise, it really should be considered a rival of the crossfire....

well they have nearly identical power to wieght ratios....the 2008 miata w/ 6sp weighs 2445lbs w/ 166hp resulting in a 14.7lbs/hp while the 2008 crossfire limited w/sp weighs 3140lbs w/ 215hp resulting in 14.6lbs/hp. and they actually arent much different in size.

2008 Miata w/ 6sp 2008 Crossfire Limited w/ 6sp
Weight 2445lbs 3140lbs
Weelbase 91.7in 94.5in
Length 157.3in 159.8in
Width 67.7in 69.5in
Height 49.0in 51.5in
0-60mph 6.5sec 6.5sec
