Default Haunted Windows & Spoiler

Ive got an 05 coupe and have had a real strange problem.

My drivers side window refused to move, i left it for a while as it didnt bother me, last week the window went down on its own and now the passenger window wont move.

I was driving along a fast road and the spoiler raised and the window went down, i put the window up and when the spoiler retracted the window went down again.

This morning the drivers window wont work and the passenger window is working again.

It seem the windows and spoiler are getting linked somehow.

Any ideas?

Sounds like quite an electrical problem! The spoiler is controlled by a "body computer".
I don't know if the windows are included in that controller. I hope you are still under the "bumper to bumper" warranty. It may just be loose connections. Take your console apart and check the back of the window switch and the back of the spoiler switch on the lower dash.

no im in the UK so no warranty, especially as most of the Chrysler dealers over here have been closed down now.

The switches are fine ive checked them all, no loose wires, looks like a new body controller then. Or dont use the windows again!

There are some online service manuals somewhere on this site.(Do a Search) You maybe able to trace down some commonality in your window and wing circuits. Look for a common ground circuit which is what I would look for first and go from there.

Good luck on your quest !

The body control module has control over numerous electrical components inside and around the vehicle, antilock brake controller, windows, wipers etc including the dash panel and the spoiler operation.
This is shown on page 8E-72 and 8W-45-2 to 8W-45-6 of the manual.
The module is located under the hood in that plastic container with the sliding latches.
Maybe all it needs is to have the connectors to it jiggled a bit to get a good connection, that is a cheap fix and always worth a try. What have you got to lose?

You can find the manual at; http://homepage.mac.com/gregmeach/XFire/

Some of the posters with a spoiler problem have found that the battery is to blame.

Couldn't say about the windows though...
