why do i have to remind myself that i like my car?
I'm still searching for my Crossfire. Sitting on the sidelines and waiting for the market to "bottom out". I've been paying close attention to all of the Crossfires on Auto Trader. They just continue to sit...and sit.....and sit.....

I paid 27k for my 05 SRT with 40 miles on her and would gladly do it again. In fact I already have. I bought my wife (and me) an 05 SRT roadster. By Mr Max's thinking the average is down to 22k. I am reminded of the car commercial that asked the question, when you turn your car on, does it return the favor? For me the answer is ooooo yea, and that is what it is all about.

Well Mr Max, the 22k is the average of the cost of the coupe and the cost of the roadster as you suggested. The roadster was purchased used, but I feel fortunate have the pair. They are both SSB and it is fun to see the reactions when we meet at a resturant and they are parked side by side.

I opted NOT to get an SRT roadster - because I wanted the cedar interior, my Limited is not as fast or quick as the SRT - but ya know this car can get to 120 fast enough to get me arrested, goes from 60 to 100 just fine, comfortable enough - did not want the stiffness of an SRT - the ride came as close to my 74 Alfa spyder as anything I have driven since - was a kid when I had that car - now I want some comfort.
Car has been great - either around town or on the raod - 1 of the few cars I have driven from fill up to empty on the highway - without feeling like I have taken a beating (others 91 Colony Park wagon; 93 Seville and the best 97 Audi cabriolet) even my wifes A6 wagon is tough to drive for hours.
not regrets - not an SRT but it's ok, paid $22.5 in July 07 - so it's worht what half that? -not selling so it doesn't matter -
relax enjoy the car - or sell it

I bought my first X-Fire in July of 03, paid full sticker for it and put 75,000 happy miles. Last July I traded it in on a Red 08 X-Fire, got a great deal on it, but could have done better now at Grapevine. Am I sorry I didn't get the better deal? No, because the little things are so much fun to drive, they are more than worth the price. So as long as you didn't do something like buy over your budget, enjoy it.
As a side thought, do something to personalize your X-Fire, then every time you look at it, it will remind you that it is really yours. For me it was painting over the silver windshield trim; now mine is like no other.
Have fun, & enjoy the ride.

Deals are just that deals. At the time you buy a car you work the deal and hope it is in your favor. Sometimes it is sometimes it's not. But the important thing is the way the car makes you feel. Money comes and goes, but the joy of firing up the car you bought outlasts any money you spent. Mundane cars do not provide the feeling you get from unique cars. I have tried to sell my 93TT RX7 three times, I had buyers but could not part with it. Don't know why but sometimes cars get under your skin. The money I'm spending completely redoing her is crazy, but that's the way it is. So just enjoy the ride in these one of a kind unique cars.

Isn't "Supercrossfire" the guy who was complaining that his old Eclipse could out-handle his Crossfire? I was just offering an option!

haha, that makes sense. Unless it is a stock GSX with under 100k miles, I would not look twice. Although, I do kind of miss that car, even if it was an auto. It never broke down, and if it did... I took the 420a engine apart and put it back together in one day. It was so easy to work on. The XF is not that difficult either, I was surprised... V6 always takes a little longer to work on than a 4 cylinder.
